A reminder to citizens that there will be a Mobile Food Distribution Event taking place this week in Starke County.
The food distributions are made possible by the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, and offer assorted food items free of charge for those in need.
There will be a distribution taking place at the San Pierre Fire Department, located at 102 Fisher Street in San Pierre this Friday, October 30th. The event will run from 9:30 – 11am Central Time, while supplies last. The distribution will have enough food to serve 150 households, and is sponsored by USDA and the Starke County Health Department.
All items are pre-boxed and pre-bagged, and distributed on a first come, first served basis while supplies last. There is a limit of one bag/box per household. These are drive-through distributions which means participants should remain in their vehicle and open the trunk to receive items. There will be a self-loading area for those who do not have working trunks.
