Starke County CVC grant applications due tomorrow

Nonprofit organizations planning events or projects that attract visitors to Starke County have until Friday, October 30th, to apply for grant funding through the Starke County Convention and Visitors Commission (CVC).

The grants are available to incorporated Indiana nonprofit organizations developing festivals, events, attractions, and other projects intended to encourage tourism in Starke County. Eligible projects must promote Starke County as a destination and be open to visitors from outside the county.

Funding for the grants comes from the county’s innkeeper’s tax, which is collected on short-term lodging stays and reinvested in tourism promotion under Indiana Code 6-9-18.

Applications are submitted to the CVC Board and reviewed during a regular public meeting. Approved applicants will be notified of their award amount and any conditions associated with the funding.

Grant recipients are required to submit a final report within 30 days of completing their projects. Submission of the report is a requirement for eligibility for future CVC funding.

The application period opened September 15th and closes tomorrow, Friday, October 30th.

Grant guidelines, application materials, and required forms are available on the Starke County CVC website at visitstarkecounty.com/grants/.
