MONTEREY, Ind. – The First National Bank of Monterey is proud to announce that Starke Pulaski Habitat for Humanity will
receive $75,000 in total funding through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBank Indianapolis) Community
Multiplier Member Match Program.
The award includes a $60,000 grant from FHLBank Indianapolis and a $15,000 matching contribution from The First National Bank of Monterey.
The Community Multiplier Member Match Program provides matching funds to eligible nonprofit organizations that support
the construction or preservation of affordable housing. Participating FHLBank Indianapolis member institutions may receive
up to $60,000 in grant funding and must contribute a minimum 25% match.
“The First National Bank of Monterey is honored to partner with Starke Pulaski Habitat for Humanity through the Federal
Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis Community Multiplier Program,” said Robert S. Cannedy, CEO of The First National Bank of
Monterey. “This grant reflects our commitment to expanding affordable housing opportunities and strengthening the
communities we serve. We are proud to support an organization that helps hardworking families achieve homeownership,
build financial stability, and create a stronger future for themselves and their communities.”
The grant will provide direct support for Habitat’s housing projects in Starke and Pulaski Counties, helping offset costs
associated with building homes for qualifying families. The funding will also allow the organization to devote more resources
to local projects and serve additional residents in need of affordable housing.
“We are incredibly grateful to The First National Bank of Monterey and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis for their
investment in our mission,” said Steve Morrison, Executive Director of Starke Pulaski Habitat for Humanity. “This funding will
help us continue providing a hand up, not a handout, to families in need of safe, decent, and affordable housing. Together,
we are creating opportunities for local families to build stability, achieve homeownership, and strengthen our communities for
generations to come.”
