Two missing juveniles located in Porter County

Two juveniles reported missing to the Knox City Police Department were located in Porter County.

According to a press release shared by the Knox City Police Department, officers began investigating after receiving the missing juvenile report this weekend. Officials began following leads, conducting interviews, and coordinating with other law enforcement agencies.

Detective Matthew Borkholder and Officer Joe West worked on the investigation throughout the day and night. Borkholder conducted interviews, followed up on possible locations, and coordinated information with other agencies, while West followed leads and gathered information.

The Knox Community School Corporation IT Department, teachers, and staff also assisted officers by providing information during the investigation.

Knox Police communicated with the Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Kouts Police Department, Hebron Police Department, Gary Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies in Porter and Lake counties.

Citizens also volunteered to search areas where the juveniles may have been located and provided information to investigators.

The release indicated that Borkholder continued working on the case the following day, and the two juveniles were ultimately located in Porter County.
