Kankakee Valley REMC officials have announced a planned power outage to help put online their new reliable energy to members in the Knox area that are currently fed from the Center metering point.
The company has transferred large industrial members to the new substation and are now ready to transfer to residential loads.
Kankakee Valley REMC is scheduled to complete this transfer in the early morning hours Friday, November 1. To safely make the transfer, members will be out of power for a short period of time.
Members located west of U.S. 35 in Knox will experience an outage for about an hour beginning at 4 a.m. CT. Everyone east of U.S 35 in Knox will experience an outage from about 4 a.m. until 6 a.m. CT. The duration of the outages could be shorter.
