A number of area schools have announced their participation in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program, established to ensure that low-income children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. Free meals are provided to all children 18 years old and under at approved SFSP sites in areas with significant concentrations of low-income children.
Free meals will be served at the North Judson-San Pierre Elementary School Cafeteria June 10 through July 11 with breakfast served from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. No meals will be served on July 4 or July 5. Adults who don’t fit the eligibility for a free meal but would like to eat a nutritious meal at the site can eat breakfast for $1 and lunch for $2.
