Amanda Minix

Amanda Minix, of Hamlet, IN, passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2023. She was only 42 years old. Our family is devastated and shocked by this loss.

Amanda was born on August 26, 1980 in Laporte, IN to parents Clayton and Brenda Minix.  She worked at Weirs in Plymouth, IN and loved her job and co-workers.  Her greatest accomplishment was her son, Jacob Cornett.  She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her son.

Amanda is survived by her parents, Clayton and Brenda (Mickow) Minix of Hamlet, two sisters, Andrea and Seth Hoppe of Hamlet, IN and Kelsey and Michael Robinson of Walkerton, IN, her paternal grandmother, Ruby Minix, and her maternal grandfather, James Mickow.  She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Addie Minix, and her maternal grandmother, Anita Mickow. Amanda had three nephews, Carsen and Caleb Hoppe and Dawson Robinson and one niece, Payson Robinson.  She has many aunts, uncles, and cousins she loved fiercely. She was also survived by her boyfriend, Michael Miser.

Amanda was passionate about her family and friends. She was high spirited and loved having fun.  She was described often as having a heart of gold because she was so generous in her love.  Amanda didn’t know a stranger because strangers soon became friends.  Her smile and presence lit up any room she was in.  She lived life to the fullest and was taken way too soon.

Services are being held for Amanda on Monday, April 24 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Hamlet at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm CST at Rannells Funeral Home in Hamlet on Sunday, April 23 and one hour before the funeral at the church. Because Amanda loved life and lived it in color, please wear bright colors to the funeral for her celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial donation be made to Jacob Cornett, her beloved son.
