GROVERTOWN – Arthur C. Norem Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2022 while surrounded by his loving family in his home following an illness. He was born on June 10, 1951 in LaPorte to the late Clyde and Mary (Warnke) Norem and was 70 years-old at the time of his death.
Art lived in the area his entire life and was a retired Construction Laborer. On July 23, 1977 in LaPorte he married the love of his life Shirley LaVigne. He operated his own construction business, AC Norem Construction, for many years. Art was the Vice President of the Monterey Resort and a past member of the Golden Horseshoe Saddle Club. He enjoyed riding horses, fishing, and coyote hunting. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Art is survived by his wife Shirley of Grovertown; four sons Clint (Jennifer) Norem of Knox, Arthur (Teresa) Norem Jr. of Grovertown, Douglas (Natessa) Norem of Knox, and Brian Norem of Grovertown; one daughter Jennifer (Ryan) Reinholt of Grovertown; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and five brothers William “Bill” Norem, Glenn Norem, John Norem, James “Jim” Norem, and Howard Norem. He is preceded in death by his parents; one grandson Raymond Norem; and two brothers Thomas Norem and Richard Norem.
Visiting hours will be from 3:00 to 7:00 CDT Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 CDT Thursday, April 21 also at the funeral home with viewing also 1 hour prior to the funeral.
