Charles E. Smith, age 76, of Knox, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2020. Charles was born August 4, 1944 in Augusta, Arkansas to Leonard and Ila Gleghorne Smith, both deceased.
He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. He loved to fish and going to fish fry’s and he loved attending the First Pentecostal Church of Knox. On March 25, 1967 he married Sans Simone “Sandy” Wright, she preceded him in death on December 3, 2018.
He is survived by his children, Trent Smith of Portage, Indiana and Jamielynn Hemminger of Demotte, Indiana, and grandchildren Brittni Smith & Trinity Smith, Kobe and Wyatt Hemminger.
A funeral service will take place Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 1:00pm (CT), with visitation two hours prior to services at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Eagle Creek Cemetery in Knox.
