Daniel Toth of Union Mills, Indiana passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, May 18, 2026.
He was born on April 21, 1934, in Walkerton, Indiana to the late Daniel Toth and Erma (Parrog) Toth and was 92 years old at the time of his passing.
Daniel was a lifelong farmer who dedicated his life to the land and the simple joys that came with it. He was a proud member of United States Army and honorably served his country during the Korean War. Following his service, he returned home and built a life centered around faith, family, and hard work.
On February 28, 1959, he married the love of his life, Kay (McIntire) Toth. Together they shared many wonderful years until her passing on August 1, 2016. Daniel was a faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and also belonged to the Hamlet American Legion. Daniel will be remembered as a kindhearted man with a smile that could light up a room. He loved fishing, gardening, hunting, trapping, and anything that allowed him to enjoy the outdoors. More than anything, he treasured time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving sons, Alan Toth of Union Mills and Craig (Erin) Toth of Union Mills; five grandchildren, Amber Toth, Carrie Toth, Sarah (Derek) Kamm, Emily Toth, and Ethan Toth; and two great-grandchildren, Shaylin Toth and Jauslyn Toth. The family would also like to give a special thank you to his amazing caregiver, Stella, for the compassion and care she provided.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Kay; his son, Brian Toth; and brothers, Alex and Steve Toth.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Rannells Funeral Home – Hamlet Chapel.
Mass will take place Monday, May 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church.
