Dorothea Mae Brooke Briggs, long time resident of Knox, Indiana, passed away at home in Collierville, TN, January 18, 2020. Due to COVID-19, a Celebration of Life has been postponed.
Dorothea graduated from Knox High School. She was married to Lee Briggs for 22 years.
Dorothea was a very warm, caring person and a friend to everyone she met. She had a special place in her heart for children and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dorothea’s hobbies included: fishing, baking, gardening and canning, playing card and dice games. She was always ready to play a new game. Not only was Dorothea an avid novel reader, she was a crossword puzzle enthusiast.
Dorothea leaves behind three of four children (Lori, Bert, and Les), seven grandchildren (Katie, Grambi, Sarah, Christopher, Danielle, Aaron, and Ayla) and seven great grandchildren, two brothers (Harold and Terry) and a sister (Ruthie). Her youngest child, Kathryn, followed in passing December 2020.
May Dorothea Rest In Peace as her deceased partner, Lawrence Bihlman, of many years and daughter are presently.
A private burial is planned for the immediate family of Dorothea Mae. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
