In 1960 He started his teaching career at Evans School in New Chicago, IN, where he taught 5th grade.
On August 29, 1964, he married Susie Goll at North Judson. An opening came up at Liberty Elementary for a principal, and in 1966 Frank and Susie came back home to North Judson to stay. Frank served as Liberty Elementary Principal in North Judson and teacher/principal and 5th grade teacher at San Pierre Elementary. When San Pierre Elementary closed, he taught 5th grade at Liberty Elementary until his retirement in 2003. He was a dedicated teacher and administrator for 43 years. He was a member of several community organizations, and a life member of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.
He loved history. He loved traveling in the RV and visited all the states except Hawaii and Montana. He had many interests and hobbies, but his passion was shooting black powder pistols at local, state, and national competitions. He enjoyed living on the family farm and watching his family grow and thrive. He was very proud of them and their accomplishments. He was a member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and Father Benis faithfully served him every week of his illness.
Surviving are his wife, Susie, his daughter Nicolette (Jim) Mourer, his son, Thomas (Brandy Bybee) Szynalski, and grand children, Taylor Carmichael, Connor Carmichael, Sydney Szynalski, Liam Szynalski, and great granddaughter, Nora Belle Medina.
