Geraldine “Jeri” Wittchen, age 89, of Knox, passed away at her home in Knox on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Jeri was born July 3, 1934 in Campton, Kentucky to Calaway Puckett Sr. and Lou Bryant Puckett, both of whom have preceded her in death.
She was saved in her early 20’s in Bible Baptist Church, of which her parents were founding members. She remained a very active part of that church her entire life having taught Bible School, Sunday School and sang in the choir. She loved to travel with her husband, camping a lot when the kids were young and eventually becoming snowbirds later in life. On May 7, 1955 she married Vincent “Vince” Wittchen, he preceded her in death on November 12, 2002.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Green (Michael) of Plymouth and Laura Raczkowski (John) of Plymouth, two grandchildren, Stephen and Shane Braasch, sisters and brothers, Wilma Palm of Yuma, AZ, Donna Scott of Plymouth, Wilgus Puckett of Knox, Ralph Puckett of Culver, Henry Puckett of Hamlet, and Calaway Puckett Jr. of Beardstown. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Braasch (Steve), a granddaughter, Stephanie Braasch, and sisters, Cathi Eilers and Fannie Smith.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 12 noon (CT), with visitation one hour prior to services, at the Bible Baptist Church in Knox. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in North Judson. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
