Hattie was born on November 20th 1932 to John and Myrtle Rowe at a place called Tip Top in Magoffin County Kentucky. At a young age, life became very hard due to the death of her father and the depression years when many people struggled to survive. Hattie eventually traveled to Chicago with a friend at a young age to find work. This was a turning point in her life. She met and married Delmer Campbell on March 17, 1950
Together they had four wonderful children, Phyllis Campbell Wentz (Howard), Joyce Campbell Bales (Dave), Steven Zackary Campbell, and Jimmie John Campbell (Tonya), 12 grandchildren and many great grand children.
In 1965 they moved from Chicago to North Judson Indiana where they stayed and raised there family. Hattie worked at various places from time to time, but her main goal was to stay home and take care of her family. Hattie loved her children. That’s all she ever talked about.
After Delmer retired, they traveled a lot, they were always headed to Nashville for Fanfare, or Florida or sometimes they would just head out with no destination, just driving and sight seeing, She loved to see new places and talk to people, she was definitely a people person, she could talk to anyone. Hattie came from a large family, she had 4 brothers Ocie Rowe, Floyd Carson Rowe, Hilliard Minix and Bob Minix, 4 sisters Opal Mann, Faye Maupin, Dixie Whitaker and Phyllis Gross
Hattie was preceded in death by her father John Rowe her mother Myrtle Rowe, Minix, Risner, two step fathers Earn Minix and Wed Risner 4 sisters Opal Mann, Faye Maupin, Dixie Whitaker, Phyllis Gross, and her husband of 69 years Delmer Campbell
A Family Graveside Memorial Service will be held at Highland Cemetery in North Judson on Monday August 3rd at 11:00am, where Hattie will be reunited and laid to rest next to the love of her life and husband of 69 years Delmer Campbell
