James H. “Cricket” McIntire, Jr.

James H. “Cricket” McIntire, Jr., age 68, of Knox, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021. He was born April 5, 1952 in Knox, to James H. McIntire, Sr. and Etta Jane King McIntire, both deceased. He had done many things for work throughout his life, but most recently he owned and operated Cricket’s Sea Critters. He loved to travel to warm places, especially the Caribbean, watching old western movies, and never missed any of the grandkids activities at the school, especially sports activities.

On August 16, 1986 he married Debra Rudd, she survives. Also surviving are his children, Tara Williams (Jeff), Shawn McIntire (Wendy), and April Watson (Joe), all of Knox, his grandchildren, McKenzie, Kole, Kooper, Courtney, Cohen, and Taylor, and great grandchildren Landon and Oakley. He was preceded in death by his son, Edward “Ed-D” Jaehn, a sister, Sandra Larracuenta, and a brother, John E. McIntire.

A celebration of life and dinner will be held Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 3-5pm (Central) at Knox VFW Post 748 . Memorials can be made to the family to help offset the cost of the emergency med-flight from the Dominican Republic. M.C. Smith Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
