James “Jim” P. Korous, 76, of North Judson, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 30th, 2020.
He was born February 27, 1944 in North Judson to the late Frank and Marie (Zelenka) Korous. Jim graduated from San Pierre high school in 1963. He married Mary L. Matson in North Judson on October 11, 1969. They raised three sons; James ”Mike” (Jennifer), Mark (Cari) and Matthew (Megan) all of North Judson. Jim loved being around his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his 7 grandchildren.
Jim was a lifelong farmer, who even after a farming injury 41 years ago overcame many obstacles to be able to continue to do what he loved. He enjoyed working on cars and other equipment, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed the family trips to fish in Minnesota. He served on the San Pierre volunteer Fire Department for more than 25 years holding numerous positions including chief. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of North Judson.
Jim is survived by his wife, sons, grandchildren, brother Duke (Cathy) Korous of North Judson and sister Francine Korous of Highland Indiana.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Frank and Marie Korous.
Funeral arrangements have been made through O’Donnell Funeral Home in North Judson. Graveside services are scheduled for Tuesday January 5th at 11:00 am CST at Highland Cemetery in North Judson.
