Justin Patrick Gutierrez of Laporte, was born March 12, 1981 at Broadway Methodist Hospital in Merrillville, Indiana at 3:30pm and departed this life on March 12, 2022, his 41st birthday. He is the firstborn child of David Michael Gutierrez and Linda Salyers Gutierrez of Laporte.
He is survived by both of his parents, his beloved sister, Savannah Gutierrez, and three nieces, Paige Heath, Chyler Bodine and Aleigha Bedford, two nephews, Jayden Bedford and Riley Bedford. He has a surviving aunt, Joan Rodriquez (Salvador) and an uncle, Dennie B. Salyers. He has many cousins grieving his death. Justin never married, so his immediate and extended family were so special to him.
Justin loved talking to his friends and trying to help them in any way he could. He loved music, collecting unusual things like puzzle boxes, antiques, and geological formations of gems, minerals and rocks of all sorts. Justin was a Christian and is in Heaven today with his beloved Jesus Christ. He had many friends all over the world, and he loved them all very much. He could find the good in everyone, and he was happy to listen to anyone’s problems and give his wisdom of the heart to all of them. He loved painting on canvas and gardening, especially flower beds.
He will be memorialized at his home church, the Knox Church of the Nazarene, 1801 S. Heaton St., Knox, IN, on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 11am (CT), with a lunch afterwards at the Fellowship Hall of the church. Pastor Rick Martin will be officiating. M.C. Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
