Keith LeRoy Rose

Keith LeRoy Rose, age 93, was born December 21, 1932 and passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026 after spending the morning and afternoon with his son Rusty and later afternoon  and evening with his daughter Dawn, granddaughters Amber and April, great granddaughters Natalie, Kaylee and Emery, and great great grandkids, Amara and Mateo  with Dawn’s new puppy Jack, that Keith named.

As a young 8 year old Keith would work cutting asparagus to help support his family.  When he started his own family he would work overtime and would walk or hitchhike home because the person he rode to work with didn’t want to work overtime.  As you can see, Keith was all about taking care of his family.  From coaching his sons in baseball to our camping trips for 2 weeks every summer growing up, which always included his mother, our grandma Rose, as well as, cousins so they could have the experience and see the country too.  Again, he loved his family.  Although he didn’t say it often, the last couple of weeks he said it a lot!

Keith retired from Howmet in LaPorte after working there for 30 years.  He also worked as head of maintenance and care for the Wythogan Park for several years.

He married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Woods on January 10, 1953 and had four children, William Richard, Keith Russell, Anthony Roy and Dawn Marie.

Keith loved his family and spending time with them was a great joy for him.  Ketih has 9 grandchildren, William Richard Rose Jr., Nicholas  Rose (Nicky precedes him in death), Samantha Rose, Elizabeth Rose, Anthony Roy Rose II (T.J.), Amber Rose, Charolette Rose, April Butler, Keith Timothy Rose, Edward Theodore Rose, 15 great grandkids, Blake Rose, Matthew Baker, Emery Taylor, Natalie Butler, Kaylee Howard, Baylee Butler, Payton Rose, Zachary Rose, Dawson Rose, Maddux Rose, Austin Rose, Danielle Rose, Maverick Rose, Khloe Rose, and Garrett Rose, great great grandkids, Mason Rose, Maverick Keith Rose, Miles Rose, Amara Gonzales, Mateo Gonzales, Brecken Rose, Dylan and Emma Williams.

He had six siblings, surviving is Luella Cofer, Ronald Rose, Shirley Palm, June Cain, Carol Hindle and Bob Rose have all preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Woods) Rose and his parents, Roy L. Rose and Christina F. (Hunt) Rose.

We had the best get togethers with the kids for birthdays, holidays and anytime we could.  This was his true joy.  He was the best and will be missed by many.

I called him my Hero and he was The Mystery, The Myth-The Legend.
