Larry Lausten, age 79, of Knox, passed away July 10, 2022. Larry was born June 30, 1943, in LaPorte, Indiana to Leroy Lausten and Purden Thompson Lausten, both deceased. He is survived by his children, Lindsay Lausten, Anne Marie Lausten, Alex Lausten, and the family Great Dane, Remy.
Larry was a man of many talents and was known for his mechanical abilities. He had the special gift (and patience) to fix just about anything you put in front of him. His family jokes that he could hear a car from a mile away and be able to diagnose what was wrong with it. He was a long-time employee of NAPA Auto Parts and enjoyed fixing and building cars, any type of car racing, being a dad and loyal friend, and pulling any prank he could get away with to catch a good laugh. His long-standing relationships in the community speak to his dedication to the people close to him and his willingness to give anyone the shirt off his back in times of need.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 1:00pm (CT), with visitation two hours prior to the services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. Interment services will be private.
