Martin “Marty” Bedrock, age 80, of Knox, Indiana, passed away January 28, 2023, in Chicago, IL. He was born on July 4, 1942, to parents Jacob Bedrock and Rita (Palumbo) Bedrock, who precede him.
Martin is survived by his wife, Marica (Metz) Bedrock, and daughter, Leslie (Ryan) Baker of Knox, IN, sisters, Beverly Hartman of Bradenton, FL, and Candace Sussman of New Castle, DE, two grandchildren Maxwell Baker and Molly Baker, 3 nephews and many great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brothers Alan & Carl Bedrock.
Marty’s true passion, aside from his family, was being an attorney. His office was his “home away from home,” as he was there seven days a week. He was an avid baseball fan, and loved the New York Yankees and playing in his local Fantasy Baseball league. Marty was also active in his community, and served as a board member to the Starke County Scholarship Foundation & Starke Memorial Hospital (Northwest Health Starke).
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 3pm (CT), with visitation four hours prior, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Cremation will take place following the services. Memorial contributions may be given to the Starke County Scholarship Foundation in Memory of Martin Bedrock.
