Sara Tannehill, Age 86, of North Judson, IN passed away January 15, 2018 in Knox, IN. She was born April 28, 1931 in Guadalajara, Mexico. On August 17, 1951 she married Charles J Tannehill in Yuma, Arizona. Sara is survived by one son, Robert Tannehill and 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Tannehill, a son Charles F. Tannehill and one daughter Polly Tannehill.

Friends may call from 10 AM CT Saturday January 20, 2018 until time of Service at 12 Noon CT at the O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will be in the San Pierre Cemetery.

Mary K. Williamson

Mary Katherine “Mary Kay” Williamson, 99, a lifelong Pulaski County resident passed away peacefully at 7:38 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Pulaski Memorial Hospital.

Born on October 20, 1918 in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Katherine (Miller) Wiesjahn.

She was a 1937 Star City High School graduate.

On October 21, 1936 she married Ed Williamson. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1989.

Ben A. Bennett, 77 years old of Knox, Indiana, died Thursday, January 11, 2018 in Knox, Indiana.

He was born Friday, August 16, 1940 in Knox, Indiana, Son of the late Chester Bennett and the late Thelma(Leonard) Bennett.

Ben was a member of the Knox Center Twp Fire Department, Knox School Board, Starke Memorial Hospital Board and Crown Hill Cemetery Board.

CULVER – Sandra “Sandy” D. Bennett, 73, of Culver, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 in the Saint Joseph Regional Hospital – Plymouth Campus.

She was born January 10, 1944 in Marshall County, to the late George and Garnet (Enyert) Beauchamp.
Sandy married Lawrence “Larry” D. Bennett on September 30, 1961 in Bass Lake; and he survives.

She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed sewing, cleaning, and renovating homes with Larry. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ione L Wera, Age 88, of North Judson, IN passed away January 8, 2018 in Laporte, IN. She is survived by her husband, Norbert L. Wera and a daughter, Mary (Kenny) Rowe. She is also survived by one sister, Diane Short, a brother George Morley, 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Leon and John.

Trellie Ritchie Kruger, 84 , of Michigan City, IN passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at Franciscan St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City, IN. Trellie was born on March 1, 1933 in Vest, KY to the late Dillard D. and Elizabeth Shepherd Ritchie. She married Paul Herman Kruger on October 20, 1956 in Medaryville, IN. Paul died April 22, 2012.

Trellie was a member of the Great Faith Baptist Church in Michigan City, IN. She enjoyed Crocheting, writing poetry and tending to her flowers. Trellie especially enjoyed visits from her family and her church family.

Fran Perren

Fran Perren, 84, of North Judson, died Friday, Dec. 29 at 9 p.m. at Starke Hospital. She was born April 13, 1933 in Portageville, Missouri to the late Henry and Hetty Garner. On Sept. 3, 1955 in Springfield, Tenn. she married Cecil Perren. He preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 2002.

Fran was raised in the bootheel of Missouri and was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan. She had fond memories of listening to Harry Caray broadcast Cardinals games on the radio. Stan Musial and Bob Gibson were her all-time favorite players.

She moved to Memphis, Tenn. after she graduated from high school and worked for the telephone company. While visiting her brother in Gary, Ind. she met Cecil. They settled in the Hessville neighborhood of Hammond, and she worked for many years in the office of Joyce Sportswear in Gary.

Fran and Cecil moved to North Judson in 1975. She held numerous paid and volunteer positions with the North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation over the years, including lunchroom/playground supervisor, substitute teacher and teacher’s aide. She was active in the Liberty Elementary PTO, chaperoned numerous field trips, served several years as a Girl Scout Leader and was also heavily involved in the North Judson-San Pierre Band Boosters.
Fran was also a longtime member of the North Judson United Methodist Church, where she served on several committees, was the financial secretary for many years, appeared in the 1989 production of “Godspell” and assisted with various children’s programs.

She was a voracious reader and also enjoyed working crossword and word search puzzles.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Perren (Timmy Collins) of North Judson, a sister, Ginny Farmer of Donaphin, Mo. and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Berlin Garner and Henry Garner, Jr.; and three sisters: Mary West, Ollie Motley and Ina Ellis.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. at North Judson United Methodist Church, with visitation there from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Attendees are encouraged to bring items for the church food pantry or toiletries for Kid’s Closet Ministry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fran Perren Preschool Scholarship Fund through the Starke County Community Foundation.

William G. “Bill” Irven

William G. “Bill” Irven, 69, of Winamac, IN passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at his residence. He was born on August 8, 1948 in Lafayette, IN to the late Keith L. and Betty J. Morgan Irven. On September 19, 1991 he married Sheila Funk in Winamac.

Bill was a farmer and truck driver. He and his wife were the owners of Beaver Bait worm farm. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. He was a member of the Jefferson Twp. Conservation Club.

Florence Anna Nitcher, 91-years-old of Ober, Indiana, died Thursday, January 4, 2018 in Knox, Indiana. She was born Friday, June 11, 1926 in Culver, Indiana, Daughter of the late Orval Humes and the late Elsie(Palm) Humes.
