Vivian K. Demis, age 77, of Knox, passed away peacefully in her home on August 19, 2020. Vivian was born June 5, 1943 in Gary, Indiana to Edward and Mary Jane (Peters) Zaborowski. William E. “Bill” Wallace, age 82, of Knox, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at his home. Bill was born August 25, 1937 in Hammond, Indiana to Charles O. Wallace and Hannah Amm Wallace, both deceased. He was baptized July 5, 1938 at ST. John Lutheran Church in LaCrosse, Indiana and confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Knox. Frank Szynalski was born in Gary, IN, July 20, 1939 to Henry and Frieda Bolka Szynalski. He died at his home the morning of August 7, 2020. He graduated from Lew Wallace High School in Gary, earned a B.S. at Valparaiso University, and received a Master’s Degree from Indiana University. In 1960 He started his teaching career at Evans School in New Chicago, IN, where he taught 5th grade.

Hattie was born on November 20th 1932 to John and Myrtle Rowe at a place called Tip Top in Magoffin County Kentucky. At a young age, life became very hard due to the death of her father and the depression years when many people struggled to survive. Hattie eventually traveled to Chicago with a friend at a young age to find work. This was a turning point in her life. She met and married Delmer Campbell on March 17, 1950

Wayne Kirby, age 67, of Grovertown, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at his home. Wayne was born November 30, 1952 in Page, West Virginia to Andrew Kirby Sr. and Cora Lawson Kirby, both deceased. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. On September 23, 1985 he married Betty Britton Kirby, she survives. Also surviving are his children, Greg Maples of New Carlisle, Gary Maples of Louisiana, Roy Anderson of Mishawaka, Racquel Anderson of Knox, Wayne Kirby Jr. of Illinois, Randy Kirby of Bremen, and Mandy Kirby Tillman of Bremen, brothers, Andrew Kirby Jr. of Alabama and Robert Kirby of Walkerton, and 24 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters. A graveside service will take place on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 11:00am (CT) at Eagle Creek Cemetery in Knox. M.C . Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
