Frank D. Ahlenius

Frank D. Ahlenius, age 85, of Knox, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019. He was born February 25, 1934 in Chicago to John Ahlenius Sr. and Marie Rostall Ahlenius, both deceased.

He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army and was a long time member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 150. He loved running heavy equipment and was especially known for the great love of his family. On January 10, 1980 he married Judy Kobak Ahlenius, she survives. Continue reading

Dr. Richard A. Lochner

Richard A. Lochner, M.D., 72, passed away at Starke Memorial Hospital, Knox, IN on Thursday, March 28, 2019.

Dr. Lochner was born October 5, 1946 in Ft. Wayne, IN to Carl C. and Golda (Draggoo) Lochner and lived in the area for 12 years, coming from Arkansas.

On August 23, 1969 in Kingston, IL, he married the former Marcia K. Uplinger. Survivors include his wife, Marcia; three sons, Joshua (April) Lochner of Bridgeman, MI, Ben (Sara) Lochner of Clark Summit, PA and Andrew Lochner of Knox; and two grandchildren, Chase Lochner and Harper Lochner. Lydia A. Bradley, age 61, of Knox, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019. She was born September 14, 1957 in LaPorte, Indiana to Bill and Charlene Young Hudson. She had worked for many years at the Scott-Foresman Company. On November 10, 2010 she married Roy Bradley, he survives. Also surviving are her father, Bill Hudson of Missouri, her children, Jonmichael Koekenberg of Owensboro, Kentucky and Gretchen Koekenberg of Marion, Indiana, step-children, Ann Bradley of Colorado, Matt Bradley of Knox, and Duane Bradley of Knox, a sister, Penny McDowell of LaPorte, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A funeral service will take place at 7:00pm (CT) Tuesday, March 26, 2019, with visitation 3 hours prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home.
