Robert H. “Bobby” Edwards, age 69, of Knox, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Bobby was born May 1, 1952 in Portland, Oregon to Orval and Ruth (Smith) Edwards.
He was a career military man having retired from the U.S. Navy after 18 years. He was a Viet Nam War Veteran, served as Personnelman 1st Class aboard the USS Mars, USS Seattle and USS Truett, former Administrative Assistant at the Navy Exchange in Norfolk, VA, and Human Resources Assistant at Personnel Afloat Atlantic at Norfolk, VA. He had studied Web Development at Tidewater College and Network Security at Strayer University. He loved dominos and other board games, travelling and any and all family activities.
On August 23, 2014 he married Jacqueline Zingarelli Crittendon, she survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Sharon Edwards Francisco of Henderson, Nevada, stepchildren, Jackie Bradley (Dewayne) of Knox and Shawn Crittendon (Jennifer) of Howe, Indiana, six grandchildren, Claire Mathes, Kaitlyn Yeck (Eli), Isaac Crittendon, Shawn S. Crittendon, Dawson Crittendon, and Noah Crittendon, and three great grandchildren, Kaia Fry, Naia Burns and Ezio Mathes. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Orval “Ed” Edwards Jr., David Edwards, Gary Edwards and Keith Edwards.
Funeral services will take place Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1pm (CT), with visitation two hours prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
