Ruby F. Torok

KNOX – Ruby F. Torok passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020. She was born on May 29, 1918 in Knox to the late Oscar and Lucy (Tietz) Fechner and was 102 years-old at the time of her death.

She lived in the area all of her life and was a retired secretary. On October 6, 1940 she married the love of her life, the late Edward Torok in Knox. She was a member of the Knox Historical Society, the Knox United Methodist Church, and the North Bend Township Home Bureau Club where she served as President. She was a former member of the Ladies Farm Bureau and served as an election poll sheriff for many years.

Ruby is survived by: one daughter Melody (Bob) Coffin of Knox; one granddaughter Estelle (Jeremiah) Carr of Huntersville, NC; two grandsons Kevin (Priscilla) Falk of Knox and Brian (Michal Joy) Falk of Argos; and five great-grandchildren Isabella, Warren, Evelyn, Owen, and Colton. She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband; one daughter Deborah Falk; two sisters Bernice Clausen and Nina Piechocki; and one brother Franklin Fechner.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 EST Thursday, November 12 at the North Bend Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Dementia Research 140 Old Orangeburg RD, Orangeburg, NY 10962 or floral gifts in Ruby’s memory may be sent to the Knox United Methodist Church. Due to Covid-19 mandates facemasks are required. The Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel is honored to be entrusted with Ruby’s care and arrangements.
