Violet Marjorie (Robinson) Ono

Violet Marjorie (Robinson) Ono, age 92, was born February 3, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to parents John (Jack) & Margaret (Creighton) Robinson.

The family moved from Chicago to the Ober area. After Violet graduated from Knox High School, she worked at the courthouse in the surveyor’s office. She married George H. Ono March 23,1952. They had 4 children – George L. Jacalynn (Terrance) Ciboch, Jennifer(Eric) Braun & Julie (Nels ) Vorm. Violet was a homemaker, and after her husband suffered a stroke, she was his caregiver for 35 years.

Violet was a faithful member of the North Judson United Methodist Church and was very active in the Chancel Choir, Contemporary Issues Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women’s group. She was an American Legion Auxiliary Member and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed her exercise classes at Bass Lake, was an avid reader & later, listened to Books on Tape. She loved learning, meeting and talking to people and was a fan of Jeopardy and listening to WKVI. Her family was special to her and she was part of every birthday and holiday. We will miss the special dishes she prepared!!!

She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, Son-in-law (Terrance Ciboch) sister- Rosetta Short and brother- Leeman Robinson. Surviving are her children, grandchildren – Tyler Ciboch, Trevor(Anne) Ciboch, Justine (Nate) Fansher, Conrad(Brittany) Braun , Blake(Leah) and Beau(Abby)Underwood, Her great- grandchildren include Lennox and Marlowe Fansher, Clementine Bushman, Quinn and Ivory Braun and Elle Underwood.

Contributions in Violet’s memory may be to the North Judson United Methodist Church, Kid’s Closet Ministries or Community Services of Starke County.

Visitation (10am- 1pm ) and Funeral at 1 pm will be Wednesday November 8 at the North Judson United Methodist Church.
