William H. “Billy” Boyd III, age 38, of Knox, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024. Billy was born June 29, 1985 in Chicago to William H. Boyd Jr. and Barbara Boyd.
Billy loved to go fishing and was also a big sports fan who loved watching the Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks play. He also loved his pets, two cats and a dog, his favorite was his kitten, Boo. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Boyd of Chicago, his companion, Ashleigh Brewer of Knox, a son, Bailey Boyd of Knox, a sister, Elizabeth Boyd of Monterey, IN, brothers, Michael Boyd (Gabriella) of Chicago, and Joshua Boyd (Samantha) of Florida, and his nieces, Shayla, Serenity, Aubree, Ameliah, Ava and Isabelle. He held a special place in his heart for Addyson and Tatum, and especially loved his tea parties with Tatum! He was so proud of his son, Bailey for being such a great young man and of all of his accomplishments attending college.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Boyd Jr. and his grandparents, William and Gladys Boyd, and his grandmother, Carol Davis.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 11am to 1pm (CT) at M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox. A dinner will follow at the Knox Community Center.
