Incidents:
7/17/17- A minor traffic accident occurred in the parking lot of Skips Garage on Talmer Ave. No injuries.

7/18/17- A minor traffic accident occurred in the parking lot of Burger King on Talmer Ave. No injuries

7/18/17- Family members checking on a male subject found him deceased at his home on Collins Street. Police and Medics arrived on scene as well as the coroner. No foul play is suspected.

7/19/17- A resident on the 200 block of Leslie Street reported criminal mischief at his property stating that someone had thrown debris over his fence and into his pool. The debris was likely tocause damage to the pool.

7/20/17- A thief made light work of some unlocked vehicles on the north side of town during the overnight hours as several vehicles that were unlocked were entered. Mostly quick items of opportunity were taken including change. Police remind citizens to always lock your vehicles.

7/20/17- After initiating a traffic stop, a vehicle residing on the 200 block of Garden Street was impounded due to false and fictitious registration. The owner was cited and advised the vehicle will be placed on a hold until proper registration is acquired.

7/22/17- Officer Simpson picked up a warrant subject from the 500 block of Talmer Avenue.

7/23/17- Marshal Fisher was summoned to help an elderly male subject who appeared disoriented. The male subject was from Michigan and thought he was in Alabama. After some investigation, Marshal Fisher contacted family in Florida who flew up to assist. Marshal Fisher assisted in arrangements at the local motel lodging and for food until family arrived.

7/24/17- A battery report was filed that occurred at the American Legion. Investigation ongoing.

7/25/17- Officers responded to two male subjects peering in windows of an occupied residence in the 2500 block of 500 South. Subjects were driving a dark blue or black pickup. When officers arrived the subjects were already gone.

7/26/17- Officers responded to an 11 year old boy who had fallen from his bicycle in the 5000 block of 350 West. A citizen called after driving up on the boy who appeared to be seizing laying next to his bike. Medics arrived and evaluated the juvenile while the officer tracked down the mother. After being evaluated the mother signed a refusal to have the boy transported to the hospital. It was determined the boys book bag rope was caught in the spokes as he was riding causing him to wreck.

7/26/17- An officer responded to a 3rd party calling about a suicidal subject. Upon further investigation, Officer Simpson met with a subject who felt he wanted to harm himself. Officer Simpson later transported the subject to the hospital under an emergency detention order to be evaluated and to get the help they need.

7/27/17- Officer Beishuizen conducted a routine traffic stop that led to a wanted subject from Porter County being arrested.
