From the North Judson Police Department:

Incidents: 11/18/12 Police responded to a 911 call of a domestic dispute in the 300 Block of Franklin Street in the early morning hours. Chief Deputy Joe Budner responded and after an initial investigation with assistance from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department and the Knox City Police, the suspect, Jeffery L. Jacobs, was located and arrested. He was arrested for Domestic Battery, Resisting Law Enforcement and Interfering with the Reporting of a Crime. He was incarcerated in the Starke County Jail awaiting formal charges.

11/18/12 A vehicle was located by police in a farmer’s field near 500 South and Elm Street. The owner of the vehicle was located and charges of criminal mischief are pending against the driver.

11/18/12 A drive off of $50.00 of gasoline was reported to the police by an employee at Carpenter’s Marathon on Talmer Avenue. The suspect was located.

11/18/12 A theft of a purse was reported to police around 11:00 p.m. A quick response and investigation lead to the recovery of the purse and an arrest. Arrested for theft was Clayton E. Hale, 26, of North Judson. Pending charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Felony Possession of Marijuana were placed against Hale as well.

11/17/12 A car vs. deer traffic accident was reported to North Judson Police Officer Darren Conley. Clayton J. Miller, of North Judson, reported striking a deer in the area of 250 South and State Road 39. No injuries were reported.

11/17/12 Vandals struck the old Army Reserve Center on Crystal Street. The unknown subject(s) spray-painted graffiti on the front entrance area.

11/17/12 A small child, 4 years of age, was found in the middle of Sycamore Street wearing only a t-shirt and a diaper. North Judson Police secured the boy. “He was taken, cleaned up and warmed up”, stated Chief Doug Vessely, “Fortunately. the child was not harmed”. Children’s Family Services [CFS] was contacted and an agent took possession of the child. A 911 missing child call was placed to the police department and the two calls were for the same child. CFS later returned the child to the parent. North Judson Office Darren Conley filed a complete report with the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office requesting formal child neglect charges against the parent.

11/16/12 Around 4:00 AM, police located a large water leak near Talmer Avenue and Main Street. The Street Department was notified and fixed the leak.

11/15/12 A report of a woman needing assistance on Lane Street was received by the police department. The woman was reportedly dealing with some mental issues.

11/15/12 A car vs. deer accident was reported just west of North Judson on State Road 10. Dawn M. Musall of Wheatfield struck a deer on State Road 10 near 750 West. No injuries were reported. North Judson Officer Frank Thomas conducted the investigation.

11/15/12 A Good to Go employee reported a drive-off to police. Within minutes, Officer Frank Thomas conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle on E. Vine Street. After an investigation and interview, 25-year-old Michael E. Ruiz was charged with three counts of conversion.

11/14/12 North Judson Chief Deputy Joe Budner responded to a report of a battery in the 500 Block of Laurel Street. After taking a report, formal charges were requested through the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office on a 19-year-old male for Battery and Intimidation.

11/12/12 North Judson Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Luken and Leslie Street resulting in three uniform traffic tickets issued.

11/12/12 North Judson Police, as well as Medic One, responded to the 200 Block of Leslie Street in reference to a possible drug overdose. A 30-year-old woman was transported to Starke IU Health Starke Hospital.

Arrests:

11/18/12 Jeffrey L. Jacobs, 38, 324 Franklin Street, of North Judson, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Domestic Battery, Resisting Law Enforcement, and Interference with Reporting of a Crime.

11/18/12 Clayton E. Hale, 26, 601 Keller Avenue, of North Judson, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Theft, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

11/15/12 Michael E. Ruiz, 25, 614 Exetier Road, of Kingsford Heights, IN was arrested on three preliminary charges of Conversion.

11/12/12 Timothy D. Prater, 28, 102 So. Webster, of San Pierre, IN was arrested on a Starke County Warrant for Neglect of a Dependent.

Knox City Police Chief Clint Norem

Incidents:
11/19/12 Daniel Simpson reported his wallet stolen.

11/13/12 The owner of Nitline reported vandalism to the property. The door handle to the back gate was broken and two Sprint cable markers were broken. There are no suspects at this time, but the incident remains under investigation.

Arrests:
11/15/12 Timothy Bodine, 44, 5620 S. 100 E., Knox, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Theft and Possession of a Controlled Substance with a Thousand Feet of a Public Park.
Priscilla Bodine, 40, 3235 S. 100 W., North Judson, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Theft, Possession of Controlled Substance within a Thousand Feet of a Public Park, and Possession of Legend Drug.

11/12/12 Reedie Shepherd, 22, 2211 Normandy Dr. #3B, Michigan City, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Criminal Mischief and Trespass.

11/11/12 – Curtis Rowe of Knox told police that someone had stolen his Samsung cell phone.

11/11/12 – Eric Anderson, 27 of San Pierre, was preliminarily charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated after a Knox woman told police that a man was slumped over the wheel in a pickup truck on 900 West.

11/11/12 – Randall Trent of North Judson told police that someone had broken into his truck and stolen items.

11/11/12 – Michael Lawei of San ierre told police that a truck had struck his vehicle and drove off while he was driving home.

11/12/12 – Jasmine Olejniczak told police that a female subject was in her backyard smoking marijuana.

11/12/12 – A San Pierre resident told police that someone had assaulted her brother and stolen his money.

11/13/12 – A theft was reported in the 200 block of West William Howard Drive in North Judson.

11/13/12 – A Walkerton resident told police that a man had threatened to kill her daughter.

11/14/12 – A Koontz Lake resident told police that a female employee had been battered.

11/14/12 – A resident of the 8700 block of East 25 North in Knox told police that someone had kicked in her door..

11/15/12 – A resident of the 5700 block of South County Road 210 in Knox told police that someone had slashed her tires

11/15/12 – A resident of the 6600 block of North 1100 East in Walkerton reported that someone had stolen his chainsaw.

11/16/12 – A resident of the 3300 block of East Toto Road in Knox told police that someone had fraudulently used her credit card.

11/16/12 – Gary Allen Hogge, 22 of Knox, was arrested after a caller told police that a car had run off the road at 500 South and County Road 210 and the drier said he was OK before passing back out

11/17/12 – Casey Douglas Linback, 21 of Walkerton following a traffic stop in relation to minor consumption of alcohol, contributing to the deliquency of a minor and other offenses.

11/11/12 – A Winamac resident told police that she received a fraudulent phone call advising her that she had won millions of dollars in prize money but she needs to give him $12.

11/12/12 – A caller from Winamac reported that someone had stolen items from his father’s home.

11/12/12 – Police were called to a Winamac businessin response to an unruly customer that was refusing to leave the store.

11/12/12 – A caller told police that a utility pole was on fire in Winamac.

11/13/12 – A Medaryville resident reported a vehicle had been tearing up the road in front of her residence and leaving ruts in her driveway.

11/13/12 – A Winamac resident told police that she can smell the strong odor of marijuana through the vents coming from a nearby apartment.

11/13/12 – A Francesville woman told police that her daughter had been physically assaulted while at school.

11/13/12 – A caller reported that a drunken man was staggering around the parking lot between Sanders and CVS in Winamac.

11/13/12 – A Winamac man told police that someone broke into his garage and stole his chainsaw.

11/13/12 – A burglar broke into a garage in Winamac and stole items.

11/13/12 – A caller from a Winamac business told police that two women had come in and used a stolen credit card to purchase items.

11/15/12 – A caller from Monroe Township told police that subjects in a grey vehicle in a nearby parking ot appear to be dealing drugs.

11/15/12 – A Winamac resident told police that someone had stolen items from his residence.

11/16/12 – A Winamac resident told police that a vehicle drove by and juveniles threw a box of empty beer bottles into the front yard.

11/16/12 – A Winamac resident reported she had been harassed.

11/16/12 – A Winamac man told police that his son had been molested.

11/16/12 – Police were told that a Winamac resident’s daughter had forged her signature on a student loan.

11/17/12 – A suspicious vehile was reported at a gas station in Medaryville.

11/18/12 – A Winamac resident told police that his son’s gun was stolen.

11/18/12 – A Winamac resident requested immediate assistance because of people trespassing on his property.
