Incidents:
02/06/11 A caller in the Denham area to report gun shots fired in the area. Police reported finding nothing and didn’t see anybody in the area.

02/05/11 The Sheriff’s Department was notified of an accident in Francesville. A semi went into the ditch. The driver was shook up and had a bloody nose. No other injuries were reported. NIPSCO was called due to a downed power line.

02/05/11 A caller reported the theft of coin books.

02/05/11 A caller in the Bruce Lake area reported a trespasser. After investigating, police determined that coon hunters were on the property to retrieve their coon dogs.

02/04/11 A man in Monterey reported his vehicle stolen. An officer called him later to report that the vehicle was involved in an accident in Marshall County. The driver hit a utility pole. Marshall County advised the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department that alcohol was a factor in the accident.

02/04/11 A man in Franklin Township advised he was cooking brownies and set his stove on fire. He thinks he got the fire out but is requested the Fire Department just to be sure.

02/03/11 A fully engulfed house fire was reported in Jasper County. The Medaryville and Francesville Fire Departments were called for mutual aid. The fire rekindled the next day.

02/03/11 A caller told police that Glen Sommers was at his home and attempted to stab him. The caller defended himself but his thumb was cut. Sommers left the home and the caller was able to call 9-1-1 twenty minutes later. The caller alleges that Sommers cut the phone wires and it took a while to fix the lines to call police. The caller also said Sommers reportedly took a guitar.

02/03/11 A Winamac resident reported that some unknown person(s) broke out her car’s back window.

02/01/11 A Medaryville resident reported a wood burning stove on fire.

Incidents:
02/03/11 A theft report from the 600 Block of Arlington Avenue included miscellaneous tools and several blank checks. North Judson Police investigated the incident.

02/03/11 A lady in the 400 block of Main Street reported to North Judson Police that her home was egged by juveniles.

02/02/11 A runaway juvenile female from Pulaski County was located in North Judson and picked up by the North Judson Police and returned to her mother in Pulaski County.

01/31/11 North Judson Police responded to a theft call in the 400 East Block of Talmer Avenue. A truck driver reported the theft of 2 tarps and 8 pieces of wood from his trailer.

Incidents:
02/01/11 Police were called to Demotte State Bank where a vehicle had run into the ATM machine. The vehicle, driven by Karen Gregory of Knox, pulled up to the north side of the ATM and had to turn around to line the driver’s side of the vehicle up to the ATM. As the vehicle was turning around to get lined up to pull up next to the ATM, the front driver’s side of the vehicle struck the front side of the ATM causing damage. The police report stated the damage appeared to be minimal.

02/06/11 A caller reported that some unknown person(s) in a black truck threw garbage in the ditch on State Road 23 and 900 East.

02/05/11 A caller reported a red pickup hit all of the mailboxes in the 8600 block of E. 25 N. in Knox.

02/05/11 A caller told police that she bought furniture from a store in Toto and ended up giving her old furniture back to her. The store reportedly gave the purchased furniture to another customer and is refusing to give her money back.

02/04/11 An employee at Knoll Brothers on US 30 advised that a truck driver just hit a gas pump and is trying to leave. He is refusing to pay for damages.

02/03/11 A resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a stolen license plate.

Arrests:
02/04/11 Carl Schrum, 30, of Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.

Accidents:
02/06/11 Dennis Olp of North Judson was traveling south on US 35 near 400 S. when he lost control on the ice and went off the roadway and turned over in the ditch. No injuries were reported.

Several slide off accidents were reported this week to the Sheriff’s Department during the recent winter storm activity. No serious injuries were reported. Several car vs. deer accidents were also reported with no serious injuries reported.
