Incidents:

11/24/14 – Starke County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a property damage accident involving two trucks at the Grovertown Truck Stop.

11/24/14 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Department, EMS and Bass Lake Fire Department First Responders responded to two-vehicle accident at the intersection of State Road 10 and U.S. 35 in Knox. No injuries were reported.

11/24/14 – A motorist reported he was westbound on U.S. 30 in front of the Grovertown Truck Stop in a truck pulling a horse trailer and was run off the road by a wrecker pulling a semi. Neither the driver nor the horse were injured.

11/24/14 – A resident in the 2000 block of East State Road 10 in Knox who filed a burglary report last week notified the sheriff’s department she’s discovered more items were stolen.

11/24/14 – A North Judson resident reported being battered by her boyfriend. Sheriff’s deputies and Starke County EMS responded.

11/24/14 – A Knox resident reported receiving strange telephone calls from someone purporting to be from a federal agency threatening to serve papers to someone at that address who does not even live there.

11/26/14 – Starke County Highway officials notified the sheriff’s department stop signs are being shot up on 100 East between 50 South and 250 South and on 600 and 700 East between Bass Lake and 250 North.

11/26/14 – The owner of property in the 5500 block of North 1200 East in Grovertown reported the theft of items from a building site on the property.

11/26/14 – The owner of property in the 8800 block of North State Road 23 in Walkerton reported the theft of items from the residence by a renter who moved out.

11/26/14 – An official with U.S. Aggregates in Monticello called the sheriff’s department after receiving a telephone call stating someone has cut the lock on the gate at the gravel pit on 700 East and State Road 10 in Knox. He said the last time he was there it appeared someone had been back there cooking meth and had stolen copper wire.

11/26/14 – A resident in the 6700 block of South State Road 10 in Knox reported her license plates were either lost or stolen.

11/26/14 – Starke County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a vehicle versus deer crash in the 6000 block of South Range Road in North Judson.

11/27/14 – A driver lost control of his vehicle in the 5000 block of south State Road 10 in Knox and hit another vehicle and a fence.

11/27/14 – A property damage accident was reported on State Road 8 east of the Yellow River.

11/27/14 – A resident in the 3200 block of south 550 East in Knox reported the theft of firearms and money from a safe inside the residence.

11/27/14 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single-vehicle property damage accident at the intersection of State Road 10 and 100 East in North Judson.

11/27/14 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Department responded to a vehicle versus deer crash on English Lake Road at 400 South.

11/27/14 – Officers responded to a report of a pickup truck on its side in the 1300 block of East Washington St. in Knox. The owner, Earl Richard Leonard, 32, of Knox, was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

11/28/14 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Department got a report of a car that knocked down a fence on State Road 10 between the Bass Lake Pub and the beach in front of the log cabin homes.

11/28/14 – Officers responded to a report of a vehicle versus deer crash on 250 North east of U.S. 35.

11/29/14 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Department, Walkerton Police Department, Starke County EMS and Koontz Lake Fire Department all responded to a single-vehicle accident with injuries on 850 East north of 800 North in Hamlet.

11/29/14 – A caller reported automatic gun shots have been occurring all day in the 7200 block of south State Road 1100 East in Culver.

11/29/14 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Department took a report of property damage on 500 South at 750 West in San Pierre.

11/30/14 – A resident in the 7200 block of West 250 South in North Judson reported his residence was broken into and several guns were stolen.

11/30/14 – A resident in the 4100 block of east 150 North in Knox reported the theft of money and other items from his residence by a known suspect.

11/30/14 – Devin Richard Gast, no age listed, Culver – Intimidation, disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement x 2.

11/29/14 – A debit/credit card was reported stolen from the 1400 block of South Heaton Street in Knox.

12/2/14 – Officers responded to a report of vandalism in the 400 block of South Heaton Street in Knox.

11/29/14 – Curtis Allen Reutebuch, 38, Knox – Operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving with a controlled substance.

11/30/14 – Ryan Michael Perry, no age given, Valparaiso – Illegal possession of alcohol.

Incidents:

11/17/14 – North Judson Police responded to a loud music complaint in the 200 block of West Talmer Avenue. The resident was advised to turn down the music.

11/18/14 – A driver of a vehicle reported that he struck a dog in the 200 block of Schricker Avenue. The dog was okay and the vehicle sustained minor damage.

11/19/14 – North Judson Police Officer Frank Thomas conducted a traffic stop in the area of Sate Road 39 North and State Road 10. After a brief investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Rickie Clemons Jr., 19, of Leiters Ford, was arrested on a preliminary charge of never obtaining a Driver’s License. Clemons was transported to the Starke County Jail without incident.

11/20/14 – A resident reported that someone was breaking into her vehicle in the 300 block of Leslie Street. North Judson Police Officer Frank Thomas responded to the call and located the suspect. After a brief investigation, Austin Dale Bailey, 24, of Knox, was arrested on preliminary charges of theft, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle and criminal mischief. Bailey was transported to the Starke County Jail without incident.

11/21/14 – A resident reported to North Judson Police that her daughter was being harassed at school. The resident was advised to contact the school.

11/21/14 – North Judson Police responded to a property damage accident on West Talmer Avenue West of Garfield Street. A driver of a vehicle stopped to avoid hitting a dog and was rear-ended by another vehicle. Chief Deputy Joe Budner estimated the damage at over $5,000.00.

11/21/14 – North Judson Police responded to a property damage accident in the area of State Road 10 and County Road 250 West. A vehicle struck a deer. North Judson Officer Nick Vanni estimated the damage at over $2,500.00.

11/22/14 – A resident reported two suspicious people in the 400 block of Lane Street.

11/22/14 – A vehicle pulling into a parking lot turned in front of a eastbound vehicle on State Road 10, near Ono Drive, causing heavy damage and sending one driver to the hospital. Chief Deputy Joe Budner investigated the incident and estimated damages at over $12,000.00. The person transported to IU Health Starke Hospital was released.

11/22/14 – Officer Nick Vanni covered a car deer accident on State Road 10 just west of 500 West.

11/22/14 – A suspicious vehicle was reported by a resident on Grand Street. North Judson Police arrived and the vehicle was gone upon arrival.

11/22/14 – Extra patrols were requested in the CVS/Dollar Store parking lot due to a prior suspicious vehicle.

11/23/14 – A downtown business requested the assistance of the police to remove two unwanted guests. Police issued two criminal trespassing warnings if they return.

11/24/14 – A report of a mental subject was investigated in the area of Keller and Central Avenues.

11/24/14 – A dog was taken to the Humane Society after officers responded to an animal running at large in the area of Second Street and Walnut. The animal was returned after proper paperwork was secured.

11/24/14 – Another car vs. deer accident occurred on 500 West south of St. Jacob’s cemetery. Chief Doug Vessely investigated. The animal had to be put down.

11/25/14 – The North Judson Police conducted a welfare check on Hancock Street.

11/28/14 – Another car vs. deer accident between 500 and 600 West on State Road 10 was investigated by North Judson Officer Frank Thomas.

Arrests:
11/19/14 – Rickie Clemons Jr., 19, of Leiters Ford, IN, was arrested on a preliminary charge of never obtaining a Driver’s License.

11/20/14 – Austin Dale Bailey, 24, of Knox, IN, was arrested on preliminary charges of theft, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle and criminal mischief.
