Incidents:
05/30/11 A resident reported that some unknown suspect(s) scratched his truck while parked overnight at the Broken Arrow Campground.

05/30/11 A resident in Cass Township told police that she had a load of sand delivered and the driver hit the front of her trailer. She needs an accident or police report.

05/30/11 A Medaryville resident called police to report broken beer bottles all over the road. The resident is picking up the glass but he feels an officer should speak to the owner.

05/29/11 The northbound lane on U.S. 35 was reportedly submerged under water just north of 600 North in Pulaski County. Six inches of water was reported in this area.

05/29/11 The Medaryville Fire Department was called to a structure fire.

05/29/11 Storm damage was reported from the storms that came through the area. Tornado spotters were activated in Medaryville, Francesville and Star City. Spotters indicated strong rotation at 200 North and 1700 West but it was not on the ground. Rotation was also indicated between 1600 West and Highway 421. Trees were reportedly blown over at the West Central Schools.

05/29/11 A resident called police complaining of kids on 4-wheelers.

05/28/11 A Star City resident called police to report the theft of LP tanks off his campers.

05/27/11 A resident called to tell police that a person was notified by her neighbors that a person is in her residence that does not have authority to be there.

05/26/11 A Star City resident reported that some unknown person broke into the house and the person is laying on the couch.

05/26/11 A Medaryville resident reported the theft of a generator.

05/26/11 A Winamac resident called police to report that a couple of kids were spray painting the neighbor’s house.

05/25/11 A Francesville resident called police to report that lightning may have caused a fire at the office. Smoke has been detected.

05/25/11 The Francesville Fire Department requested the activation of weather spotters as a tornado was spotted just south of Rensselaer. A tornado was later confirmed in Francesville.

05/25/11 A Winamac resident reported the theft of checks from the bank that were cashed in excess of $44,000. The checks were stolen in Newton County.

05/24/11 A Winamac business reported the theft of gas.

05/23/11 A caller in Winamac told police that he got a call from his neighbor who told him that someone in a pickup truck was taking things from his farm. A scaffold and a planter are missing.

05/30/11 Dalton Minix, 2150 W. 800 S., North Judson, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Minor Consuming and Public Intoxication.

05/28/11 Jose Aramirez Ortez, 39, 1020 Pink St., Logansport, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Driving with No License. Discharged 05/28/11

05/27/11 John Huetten, 30, 4651 W. 200 N. Winamac, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Domestic Battery. Discharged 05/29/11

05/27/11 Suzanne L. Roach, 31, 318 W. Washington St., Winamac, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Driving While Suspended. Discharged 05/28/11

05/27/11 Jeffery Adams, 36, 5473 S. State Road 10, Monon, IN,arrested on a preliminary charge of Burglary.

5/26/11 Steven Fisher, 31, 310 Indiana Ave., Hamlet, IN, arrested on a Failure to Appear warrant. Discharged 05/30/11

05/26/11 Tracy M. Redelman, 44, 2577 S. 50 E. Winamac, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Residential Entry. Discharged 05/26/11

05/26/11 Kelly Patterson, 32, 515 W. Jefferson, Culver, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Residential Entry and Possession of Paraphernalia.

05/25/11 Hector Ramirez, 40, 7719 Hendricks, Merrillville, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Habitual Traffic Offender and Public Intoxication.

Accidents:
05/25/11 Hector Ramirez , 39, of Merrillville, Indiana, was operating his vehicle northbound on County Road 50 East, north of County 300 South, when he swerved to miss a squirrel causing him to travel off the roadway and “clip” a mailbox. The mailbox at 2817 S. CR 50 E. was damaged and there was extensive damage done to the front of the vehicle. According to the report, while the reporting officer was talking to Ramirez, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and Ramirez’s eyes appeared bloodshot and glassy. Ramirez submitted to standard Field Sobriety Tests and a certified breathalyzer that resulted in a .12% BAC. He was subsequently arrested on charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated and Habitual Traffic Violator.

Incidents:
05/27/11 A City officer was called to the Knox Skate Park for a report of theft. Chris McLaughlin told police that he was building new ramps for the skate park and was charging his cordless tool batteries across the parking lot at the pavilion. When McLaughlin asked Frank Lynch to retrieve a new battery from the charger, Lynch said the battery and the charger were missing. A witness saw a male take the items from the pavilion but did could not positively identify him.

05/26/11 Ashley Arnett reported her purse missing. The last time she saw her purse was in a cart at Five Star.

05/19/11 Kimmala Schlink reported her wallet stolen. It was reportedly found in the wastebasket at the Knox Subway store on May 26th.

05/30/11 Jerry Lain III, 20, 2154 N. State Road 39, Winamac, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

05/29/11 Sarah Coffin, 29, no address given, arrested on an active warrant for her arrest out of LaPorte County for Battery.

05/29/11 Kathy Redlark, 57, 309 Ruthie Dr., Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Battery.
Roger Grigsby, 54, 403 W. Bender St., Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Harassment.

05/27/11 Gloria Rae Myers Phillips, 62, 2340 S. 550 E., Knox, IN, arrested for Resisting Law Enforcement.

05/25/11 Carl Balaszek, 21, 1486 Olson Drive, Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Reckless Driving. Balaszek was also cited for disregarding a stop sign and no registration.

05/25/11 James Childress III, 27, 200 W. Division St., Rolling Prairie, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Public Intoxication, Resisting Law Enforcement and an active arrest warrant out of LaPorte County.

Incidents:
05/29/11 An officer was requested at the old drapery store in Toto as some unknown person(s) spray painted graffiti on the back of the store.

05/29/11 Weather spotters were activated. Strong rotation was spotted over Highway 421 near Radioville.

05/28/11 A resident called police to report that a male and female were walking westbound on 200 South from his residence and the subjects are going door to door wanting a ride. Subjects are acting suspicious.

05/28/11 A Grovertown resident told police that he was out jogging when a suspicious vehicle pulled up to him and asked if he was having a good run and then he took off. They pulled up to him again and asked if he had a cell phone and he said no. The male subject in the car then pointed a black pistol at him and then took off.

05/27/11 A resident in the 2800 block of S. Lart Lane in Knox reported a bike stolen from her residence.

05/25/11 A resident in the 3000 block of S. Range Road in Knox reported spray painting on several buildings.

05/24/11 Debra Fuehring of Knox requested police to file a report. She said that her truck was shot.

05/23/11 Raymond Higdon, 31, turned himself in on an active arrest warrant.

05/23/11 Wanda Bundy reported a break-in at her residence.

05/23/11 A North Judson resident reported the theft of his pickup truck. The truck was parked by the house with the keys in it.

Arrests:
05/28/11 Sebastin G. Bobak, of Chicago, IL, was arrested on preliminary charges of Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication.

05/24/11 Hobart Givens, 21, of Knox, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Theft.
Luther Nies, 21, of Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Theft.

Accidents:
05/24/11 Jasmine Johnson, 35, of Rochester, IN, was driving east on State Road 10 near State Road 35 when she saw a deer on the side of the road. She didn’t know which way the deer would travel and she applied the brakes and the bike started to skid and caused the bike to fall. It continued to skid until it came to rest. She sustained injuries to her legs in the accident.
