Incidents:
10/09/11 A resident in Cass Township reported that an unknown hunter was on his property and was trespassing.

10/09/11 A Winamac resident reported the theft of a bicycle. The bike was returned when the suspect learned the police were involved.

10/09/11 A caller told police that there is a truck going southbound along the old railroad tracks north of Medaryville with a “bunch” of marijuana sticking out of the truck bed. The truck appeared to be occupied with two teenage boys. A farmer called to report seeing the same thing and he chased them but they took off into the woods. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle but White and Jasper County officers were notified of the situation.

10/09/11 Police were notified of a strong LP gas smell in the driveway at a home in Monterey. The Monterey-Tippecanoe Fire Department was called to the scene. The homeowner answered the door and appeared to be ok. Firefighters noted the strong smell of gas and NIPSCO was notified.

10/09/11 The owner of a liquor store in Medaryville called police to report the theft of money from the store. He said he may have forgotten to lock the door when he left. Someone had called him to tell him that the door was open.

10/08/11 Police were called to the north side of Pizza Hut in Medaryville in reference to a man sleeping in a car. Police found that the subject had a suspended driver’s license. He was given a verbal warning not to drive.

10/08/11 The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department received a call that shots were fired in Star City. Other neighbors reported the same thing. One person was arrested on the scene for a small claims warrant.

10/08/11 The Medaryville Fire Department was called to a lawn fire north of Medaryville. When firefighters arrived on scene, they noticed that it was a small fire and it was a controlled burn.

10/08/11 A Winamac resident called to report the theft of a vehicle. A person agreed to buy the vehicle from the caller but hasn’t paid for it. It was found to be missing from the residence. The caller suspects that the vehicle could have been sold for scrap.

10/08/11 A resident in the Franklin Township area is requesting a dog bite report. The victim has several stitches to her face following a dog attack by a male St. Bernard/Lab mix. The dog is in quarantine with the Starke County Humane Society.

10/07/11 An apartment maintenance manager reported vandalism to one of the apartments. Some unknown person(s) kicked in the office door and vandalized the office.

10/07/11 A resident in Cass Township reported that someone broke into his garage and stole tools.

10/07/11 A elderly lady called police report her purse stolen. The incident was caught on video. Officers identified the subject, called him, and he will be returning the purse. The suspect said that he thought the purse belonged to another lady and it wasn’t hers.

10/07/11 The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of an accident between a semi and a van. The caller said he sees one person who was bleeding. The passenger was treated at the scene.

10/04/11 A Winamac resident called to report vandalism to his truck.

10/04/11 A resident in Pulaski reported the theft of items from his home.

10/04/11 A Harris Township resident filed a trespassing complaint.

10/04/11 A Winamac business requested a report for a shoplifter. Cologne and teeth whitener were stolen.

10/04/11 A resident in Pulaski called police after he found the gas lines to a truck cut. The truck had been sitting at the residence and it would not start. It was then that he learned the lines had been cut. Officers were headed out to the area where this happened as there were reports of theft from his neighbors.

Incidents:
10/07/11 A four-car chain reaction property damage accident took place in the North Judson–San Pierre High School parking lot Friday afternoon. All four were in line waiting to exit the lot, when the last vehicle in line was distracted and hit the car in front of him, causing a chain reaction doing slight damage to each vehicle. North Judson Police Chief Doug Vessely and Officer Frank Thomas investigated and estimated total damages at just under $1,000. All four drivers were high school students.

10/05/11 After receiving a call of a car deer accident, the North Judson Police responded to Talmer Avenue near the intersection of Ufkes Drive. The driver, Mark Stanojevic, had struck a deer crossing Talmer just west of Ufkes, with his Ford pickup. Officer Bill Scheiderer set damages at $750, noting how rare it is to have a deer accident within the town limits.

10/04/11 The North Judson Police investigated a Battery report in the 600 Block of Mulberry Street. A 24 year old female reported being struck (slapped) in the back of her head by a 22 year old man. A complete investigation was completed and provided to the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office for formal charges.

Incidents:
10/10/11 A representative from the 7-Up company told police that he was at the 7-Up pop machine that sits in front of the ALCO store when he saw that the outer casing of the machine above the pop drop receiver was broken.

10/07/11 Pat Clemons told police that sometime the night prior, some unknown person(s) entered her home and took her grandson’s computer. They also removed medications from her purse.

10/05/11 Earl Beem, Jr., 29, 1405 W. 18th St. Apt #5D, LaPorte, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Illegal Drug Lab, Possession of Meth over 3 Grams, Possession of Precursors, Resisting Law Enforcement and two active arrest warrants.

10/04/11 Waylon Anderson, 31, 313 N. Clark St., Knox, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief, Resisting Law Enforcement and an active arrest warrant.

10/04/11 Joshua Bartlett, 21, 802 S. Main St., Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Criminal Mischief.

Incidents:
10/09/11 Susan Perdue called police to report that she is on State Road 39 north of State Road 10 and hit a tree. She swerved to avoid hitting a deer and hit the tree.

10/09/11 A resident in the North Judson area called police to report that some unknown suspect(s) has slit the top of her convertible.

10/09/11 It was reported to police that a storage unit by the “s” curve in the back has been broken into.

10/08/11 A Monterey resident requested to speak to a police officer. She thinks her neighbor killed her dog.

10/08/11 A resident in the 8800 block of N. State Road 23 in Knox called police to advised that his neighbors are illegally burning treated wood.

10/07/11 A resident in the 200 block of Jefferson St. in Hamlet reported the theft of green mountain bike.

10/07/11 Richard Heemstra reported the theft of winning raffle tickets.

10/07/11 A resident in the 11000 block of E. Toto Rd.in Culver told police that she believes that her neighbor is taking her phone and canned goods out of her cabinets.

10/06/11 A resident in the 8100 block of S. 1200 E. in North Judson reported the theft of a lawnmower.

10/06/11 Marshall Garlach was injured when he was attacked by two dogs. The dog owner, Candace Simmons, of Knox, IN, was cited for Criminal Recklessness and Harboring a Non-Immunized Dog. One dog was reportedly put down by an officer due to aggressive movement and the other was taken to the Starke County Humane Society.

10/05/11 A resident in the 3100 block of S. 350 E. in Knox reported the theft of a television from his residence.

10/04/11 A resident in the 8700 block of S. 200 W. in Knox requested assistance in getting a ground squirrel out her home.
