Incidents:
11/12/11 A Winamac farmer reported that he was trying to harvest and there were hunters in the field. The farmer said the hunters were not supposed to be there. The property owner and the hunter are attempting to figure out if they had permission to be there or not.

11/12/11 Two hunters were issued citations after police were called that two hunters were shooting deer from the roadway. The hunters were not wearing their hunter orange.

11/12/11 Police were called to a dog bite incident in Cass Township.

11/12/11 A caller from the town of Pulaski reported a car vs. deer accident. No injuries were reported.

11/12/11 A resident in Harris Township told police that he hit a deer with his vehicle.

11/11/11 A car vs. deer accident was reported in the Monon area. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

11/11/11 A resident in the Cass Township area reported the theft of copper.

11/11/11 A Winamac resident called police to report the theft of a TV and DVD player. No forced entry was observed and the door had been unlocked.

11/11/11 A resident in the Monon area reported hearing gun shot on his property. The caller believed that hunters were hunting illegally.

11/11/11 A Winamac resident reported a car vs. deer accident.

11/11/11 A driver came on station to report a car/deer accident. The vehicle sustained damage to the headlight and an officer checked the vehicle to see if a report was necessary. The driver was told to contact the insurance company.

11/11/11 Two calls were received by the Sheriff’s Department of people shining lights into fields.

11/10/11 A Winamac resident told police that he hit an 8 point deer and it jumped up and took off. Damage was done to his side mirror and his windshield was shattered.

11/10/11 A car vs deer accident was reported in Jefferson Township. No injuries were reported.

11/10/11 A driver in the Bruce Lake area reported hitting a deer. There were no injuries and minimal damage was reported.

11/09/11 A Winamac resident called police to report that she received a receipt and notice that the storage unit she rented has been re-rented and that the lock had been cut off sometime in September and the property inside the unit was stolen or smashed.

11/09/11 Dispatch received a call that a school bus stalled in the middle of the road and kids were still on it. The bus was stalled approximately ½ mile north of State Road 14. The bus driver told police that some parents were coming to get the kids and another bus is coming to finish the route.

11/09/11 Officers were called to a property damage accident with no injuries. The accident occurred in the Winamac area and it involved a tractor and a passenger car.

11/09/11 A resident in the Bruce Lake area called police to report a car vs. deer accident. No injuries were reported.

11/09/11 A Star City resident notified police that her daughter hit a deer. She took her daughter and her and her friend home. No injuries were reported.

11/13/11 Darrin E. Lambert, 43, 7310 N. 725 W. Winamac, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Public Intoxication. Discharged 11/14/11

11/11/11 Raymond Risner, 41, 106 N. U.S. Highway 421, Medaryville, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

11/10/11 Chad Neeley, 38, 15288 W. 400 N., Medaryville, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant. Discharged 11/13/11

11/09/11 Jonathon D. Hook, 37, 8548 S. Base Rd., Monon, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

From the North Judson Police Department:

Incidents:
11/13/11 Around 8:15 a.m. CT, the North Judson Police were called to the Family Express in reference to a vehicle that had jumped the curb and struck the Propane Gas Tank holding cage and the building. North Judson Chief Deputy Joe Budner investigated the incident. The driver, Marli Shepherd,, of Winamac stated that as she pulled into the lot, her brakes failed and she jumped the curb striking the propane tanks and the building with her 1997 Ford Taurus. Shepherd was issued two citations: one for False and Fictitious Registration and for Operating a Vehicle without Financial Responsibility. Budner estimated the total damages at over $2,500.

11/12/11 An iPod was reported stolen to the North Judson Police. It was reported to have been taken from the North Judson–San Pierre High School parking lot on Wednesday, November 9th.

11/10/11 Branden J. Williams, of North Judson, was traveling north on State Road 39 coming into the North Judson City Limits when he was distracted for a second, swerved to the right, and struck a cluster of 3 mailboxes and 3 newspaper holders in the area of 6400 South State Road 39. His 1998 Pontiac Grand Am sustained an estimated $2,500 in damages by North Judson Police Chief Doug Vessely. Williams will repair the damage to the mailboxes.

11/09/11 North Judson Police responded to a report of a Battery in the 300 block of High Street during a family dispute. Neither party requested to file formal charges. The parties were separated.

11/07/11 Items were reported stolen from a gravesite in Highland Cemetery to the North Judson Police Department.

Incidents:
11/14/11 Charlie Barnett and Lacey Barnett reported the theft of a Playstation 3 gaming system, seven games, two controllers and a DVD player.

11/14/11 Diane and Mike Kadlec reported the theft of a Wii gaming system, games, wireless controllers, battery packs and movies. The residence had been unlocked to allow their child into the home while they were out.

11/14/11 Knox police were called to ALCO for a call about stolen loading ramps from the building. According to the report, the Manager stated that the ramps are usually behind the store and secured by lock and chain. Three ramps were missing.

11/13/11 Jimmy Piper reported the theft of a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am from his residence.

11/13/11 Christine Armes reported damage to her vehicle while parked at the Woods Apartments. The damage was sustained by another vehicle in the parking lot. Police witnessed seeing a large dent on the passenger side of the quarter panel and a large scratch.

11/11/11 Danielle Lardino reported the theft of clothing items.

11/09/11 A burglary incident was reported at the Starke County Abstract Company in downtown Knox. After an investigation, it was determined that only a small amount of cash was stolen. Items were taken out of a safe and papers were thrown around the office. The office belonging to Attorney, LeRoy Gudeman was reportedly ransacked.

11/09/11 Knox High School Assistant Principal, Mike Bendicsen, reported the theft of a computer. The suspect, a student, had not been seen in school for the past month. Several attempts have been made to retrieve the computer, but those attempts have been unsuccessful.

11/08/11 Two cases of fraud were reported to police.

11/13/11 Dennis Goble, Jr., 31, 705 W. Pearl St., Hamlet, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a BAC over .15%.

11/10/11 Jason T. Cope, 31, 1107 E. Lake St., Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Battery.

11/08/11 Timothy J. Curtis, 24, 4060 S. County Road 210, Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a Prior Conviction.

11/13/11 A car vs. deer accident was reported by Sandra Davis of Lakeville on Highway 30 between 800 East and 900 East in Grovertown.

11/13/11 A resident in the 3900 block of S. County Road 210 in Knox told police that she saw a male subject driving a vehicle that was hauling scrap in front of the Shore Club and the driver took the “Do Not Enter” sign from the business.

11/13/11 A resident in the 8600 block of E. Long Lane Dr. of Knox reported that a Pit Bull came into her yard and tried to attack her.

11/13/11 A resident in the 5700 block of S. 900 E. in Monterey reported the theft of items from a rental property.

11/13/11 George S. Turoci, 51, of Valparaiso, called police to report a car vs. deer accident on Toto Road and Pinewood Drive.

11/12/11 A resident on 600 W. in North Judson reported that a person in a gorilla suit was jumping out of the bushes.

11/12/11 Katherine Smutzer of Indianapolis reported a car vs. deer accident in front of Dooleys in San Pierre.

11/12/11 A resident in the 4700 block of S. County Road 210 of Knox reported that someone driving a Bobcat was tearing down trees.

11/12/11 A car vs. deer accident was reported on State Road 23 south of U.S. 30 in Grovertown.

11/12/11 Elaine Ezra of North Judson reported a car vs. deer accident on State Road 10. No injuries were reported.

11/12/11 An employee from Tony’s Service Station reported a drive off of $61.60.

11/12/11 Rabion Frasure reported a car vs. deer accident on Highway 421 in San Pierre.

11/12/11 William Hatfield reported the theft of guns.

11/12/11 Krystalyn McKee of Grovertown reported a car vs. deer accident on U.S. 30 across from Knoll Brothers. She said the vehicle was not drivable.

11/11/11 Brett Byer of Knox reported a car vs. deer accident on State Road 23 just south of 250 North in Knox.

11/11/11 A resident in the 1100 block of E. 150 S. in Knox reported a theft.

11/10/11 Edward Leszek called to report that a deer ran out into the roadway and hit the deer. The accident happened in the 7300 block of S. 1075 W. in San Pierre.

11/10/11 Alicia McNally reported a car vs. deer accident on Highway 421 south of San Pierre.

11/10/11 Teri Hawkins with Chase Home Finance called police to request an officer to take a theft report from a mortgage foreclosure.

11/10/11 AT&T Mobility reported the theft of copper wire from the 6000 block of S. 500 W. in North Judson.

11/10/11 Donald Benoit of Culver, Indiana told police that he hit two deer on State Road 23 near the Washington Township Fire Station.

11/09/11 Frank Lynch from the Starke County Health Department called police to report the theft of $530 in checks and money stolen from the office.
