Incidents:

12/11/11 A Star City resident called police to say that she gave someone permission to come and get personal belongings off her porch but now her laptop is missing.

12/11/11 A car vs deer accident was reported in Winamac.

12/10/11 A Winamac resident reported the theft of two large cement urns from her grandparents’ gravesite.

12/10/11 A rollover accident was reported at Highway 421 and 550 N. Four people were injured in the accident.

12/10/11 An accident was reported at 500 South with a woman injured. Witnesses told police that they saw her in the vehicle and stayed with the vehicle until emergency responders arrived on scene. The roads were slick at the time of the accident.

12/09/11 A two vehicle accident was reported in front of Braun’s south of Winamac.

12/09/11 A car vs deer accident was reported in the Beardstown area.

12/09/11 A car vs deer accident was reported in the Pulaski area. No injuries were reported.

12/09/11 A Denham area resident called police to report that there were hunters on his property that did not have permission to be there.

12/09/11 A Francesville resident called police to report the electricity was out and a car was in the ditch outside of her residence. She said that her husband went outside to look to see if anyone was hurt and the vehicle had left the scene. No other description was available to give to police. Wires were down and the electric company was called to repair the pole and wires.

12/09/11 A chimney fire was called in from a resident in the Monon area.

12/08/11 The Winamac Fire Department was called to a vehicle fire in the Bruce Lake area.

12/08/11 A Winamac resident reported the theft of $1,000 and a CD.

12/07/11 A car vs deer accident was reported on State Road 14, a half mile west of Highway 421 in Winamac. No injuries were reported.

12/07/11 Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department investigated a two semi head-on collision in Winamac with entrapment. One driver was trapped and could not feel his legs and had a cut on his head. NIPSCO was called as a pole snapped and wires were hanging from the pole.

12/07/11 A Winamac resident told police that she noticed her door had been kicked in after she returned to her residence after she had taken her children to school. Nothing was reported stolen.

12/07/11 A Francesville resident reported that someone had tried to open her dining room window as the screen was taken off the window and there were fingerprints visible where the suspect tried to open the window. Entry was not gained into the house and nothing was stolen.

12/11/11 Richard Neeley, 49, no address given, arrested on an active arrest warrant. Discharged 12/12/11

Incidents:
12/10/11 The North Judson Police were informed of two vandalism calls in the same neighborhood involving two vehicles that had been egged. One truck in the 700 block of Magnolia and another vehicle in the 300 block of George Street were involved. One incident occurred just before midnight and the other was sometime after midnight. North Judson Police Chief Doug Vessely asked that anyone with information is asked to call police at 574-772-5914. He also added “If you see or hear anything suspicious in your neighborhood, no matter what time of day, to please call police and let us know what’s going on”.

12/09/11 Two adult women made statements to the North Judson Police Department involving harassment toward each other and their family.

12/07/11 North Judson Police responded to a report of intimidation when an adult male was threatened in the 300 block of Main Street. A complete report was furnished to the Starke County Prosecutors Officer requesting formal charges.

12/07/11 A one vehicle property damage only accident took out a stop sign at the intersection of Talmer and Schricker Avenues and slighly damaged a 2009 Mercury being driven by Marcella Hoffman of San Pierre. North Judson Police Officer William Scheiderer estimated damages at near $750.

12/07/11 A criminal mischief report was made to the North Judson Police by a resident in the 700 Block of Laurel Street in reference to a slashed tire. This is same vehicle that was involved in an earlier hit and run.

12/06/11 North Judson Police are investigating a hit and run accident that occurred in the Brantwood parking lot at 407 Talmer Avenue. A 2004 Cadilac belonging to Kelly Jackson of Hamlet was parked in the lot overnight by Candice Wilson, her daughter. The next morning she returned to get the vehicle and when she got home noticed some damages. Chief Deputy Joe Budner investigated and estimated damages at over $1,000. Anyone with any information concerning this accident is asked to please call the North Judson Police at 574-772-5914.

12/12/11 A teenage driver was injured after she went off the road on State Road 8, struck a tree and went into the ditch.

12/11/11 A car vs deer accident was reported on State Road 39 and Toto Road in North Judson.

12/11/11 Ryan Hawkins of LaPorte called to report that he was involved in a car vs deer report on State Road 10 between State Road 23 and the Marshall County line.

12/11/11 Ashley Hardel called police to report that some unknown subject(s) stole her car while it was parked at the Bass Lake Marina.

12/10/11 A resident called police to report that people at the corner of State Road 23 and 200 South are playing loud music.

12/10/11 A North Judson resident called police to report that her wallet was stolen and her credit card has been fraudulently used.

12/10/11 Jan Ogle told police that her dog bit her the previous evening but it is not a serious bite. She can no longer take care of the dog and she contacted the Starke County Humane Society and they told her that a bite report was needed. The Sheriff’s Department called the Humane Society and they stated that if the dog was brought to the shelter they will put down the dog.

12/10/11 Tonja Workman told police that she was outside and her neighbor’s pit bulls were running loose and chased her up to her porch and nearly attacked her.

12/10/11 A caller reported that a vehicle flipped over in the median and a male driver is out walking around. The driver was identified as Brandon Quinby and he reportedly refused any medical treatment to be dispatched to the scene.

12/09/11 Dan Ard reported to police that he hit a deer on State Road 10 just west of North Judson. He advised that he was not injured but does need a report.

12/09/11 A resident in the 8800 block of E. 700 North in Grovertown reported a lawnmower was stolen.

12/09/11 Heather Gehrke of LaPorte was northbound on U.S. 35 and due to road conditions, she lost control of her vehicle. She told police that as she lost contol, her vehicle began to spin and was then struck by another vehicle. No injuries were reported.

12/09/11 Mohammad Fazal of Glendale Heights, IL, was southbound on U.S. 35 and lost control of his vehicle due to ice on the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway and flipped onto its top. No injuries were reported.

12/09/11 Christopher Hamand, of Hamlet was injured in a single vehicle accident. He was eastbound on County Road 25 North and upon entering the curve, his gas pedal became stuck. He was unable to control the vehicle and it left the roadway.

12/08/11 David Jefferies of Culver reported a car vs. deer accident.

12/08/11 A resident in the 2500 block of W. Third Avenue in North Judson reported that some unknown person(s) attempted to break into her home. There is damage to the door, the dead bolt and the door jamb. Nothing was reported missing.

12/08/11 A resident in the 9400 block of E. 500 N. in Grovertown called to tell police that her husband was digging at the house and hit a gas line. NIPSCO was contacted.

12/07/11 A resident in the 7700 block of N. 925 E. in Walkerton called to report a theft report. Some World War II memorabilia was stolen from the residence.

12/07/11 A resident in the 6000 block of County Road 500 West in North Judson reported his tires being slashed.

12/07/11 Russell Hochstedler of Winamac told police that he was involved in a car vs deer accident on 100 West approximately a half mile south of State Road 10.

12/07/11 A resident in the 7800 block of N. Meadow Lane in Walkerton reported she was bitten by a dog.

12/07/11 A resident in the 7600 block of E. 300 N. in Knox told police that someone took down their mailbox sometime last night.

12/07/11 A resident in the 11600 block of W. 750 S. in San Pierre reported that his house was broken into.

12/06/11 A resident in the 3600 block of E. Debby Dr., in Knox reported the theft of a ladder.

12/06/11 Adam Kuehn of North Judson told police that he was in a car vs deer accident in the 500 block southwest of 600 W. in Starke County.

12/06/11 A resident in the 10100 block of E. State Road 10 in Knox told police that he is having problems with a hunter on the property that he is hunting on.

12/05/11 Police were called to an accident where Beatrice Zahn went off the roadway. Police observed evidence that showed that Zahn was traveling at a high rate of speed and drove straight through a curve in the road, accelerated and struck a tree shearing it off at the ground level and dragging the root cluster approximately 80 ft. She then went off the roadway and into a ditch. She was reportedly attempting to avoid hitting several deer in the roadway.
