Red Cross officials say blood donations are being distributed faster than they are coming in, and the supply has fallen below the five-day level the Red Cross tries to maintain. The organization says all types of blood are needed, but there’s a particular need for type O.

Red Cross Hopes to Boost Summer Blood Donations
The American Red Cross is working to make sure it has a sufficient number of blood donations over the summer months. In a press release, the Red Cross says that summer vacations and activities often mean regular donors are too busy to give blood. Red Cross Blood Drive Scheduled for March 11th at WKVI Studios
WKVI Program Director Lenny Dessauer announced this week that the station will be conducting a blood drive on March 11th.
March is the perfect time to give. It’s Red Cross Month and also the 60th Anniversary of the Indiana-Ohio Blood Services Region.
