A caucus has been scheduled to fill the vacancy on the Winamac Town Council. Pulaski County Republican Party Chair Blair Todd says precinct committee members will meet at the Pulaski County Public Library in Winamac on Monday, July 25 at 5:30 p.m. They will be choosing a replacement for former council president Kenneth McFarland, who passed away late last month. Starke Dems Tap Hoffer for Coroner Position

 The Starke County Democrats have elected a new Coroner.

A caucus was held Wednesday night at the VFW in Knox to select a new candidate for the job. Filling the position during a special caucus was needed following the resignation former Coroner Adam Gray – who cited personal and professional reasons behind the move.

North Judson Republicans to Caucus

 
 

Plans are being developed after it was learned the Town of North Judson will be hosting a Town Convention.

The decision was handed down by the Starke County Clerk’s office after Jesiah Clemons’ paperwork to run for the North Judson Town Council’s Ward 2 seat as an Independent was rejected. Clemons had previously filed to run as a Republican for the seat, which was accepted by the County Clerk’s office.

Interim Starke County Treasurer Selected

Kasey Clark was sworn in last night as the Interim Starke County Treasurer. Clark, who has been running the office since Linda Belork was removed in August, was selected by the Starke County Precinct Committeemen in a caucus last night at the Knox Community Center. Clark won the caucus over Connie Miller of North Judson.

Before the vote each of the women gave a speech listing their reasons for running for the office. Clark repeated part of her address following the vote.
