Winamac Pool Committee Continues Fundraising

Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Community Volunteers to Clean Up State Road 14
Look out for yellow-vested volunteers on State Road 14 near Church of the Heartland in Winamac on Saturday, July 13, when volunteers from Pulaski Memorial Hospital and the community will be “policing” the highway adopted by the hospital as part of the “Adopt-A-Highway” program. Volunteers will be donning the reflective vests and walking along the highway, picking up litter and trash to clean up their community.
Church of the Heartland Still Accepting Donations for Tornado Victims
The members of the Church of the Heartland will be taking a trailer full of supplies to tornado victims in southern Indiana this weekend, but items are still needed.
You may donate non-perishable food items, detergent, hair care products, cleaning supplies, paper products, diapers, baby food and bottled water. You may take your donation to the Church of the Heartland at 6020 S. 300 E. in Knox from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT everyday this week.
Emergency Responders Continue to Help Those Affected by Tornadoes
Salyersville, Kentucky residents have had a strong relationship with Starke County over the past 70 years with many people from there migrating here to work in the Ordinance Plant at Kingsbury during the Second World War.
Many of the transplants from Salyersville stayed after the war, making Starke County their home.
It was with sorrow that many of those heard of the news Saturday that a tornado ripped through the town Friday night destroying 15 businesses and numerous homes.
