Plans are moving ahead for an animal control facility at the Pulaski County Recycling and Transfer Station. Sheriff Jeff Richwine told the county commissioners Monday that he’s working on outfitting the old salt barn to house dogs.

Two soldiers are back home from deployment. A parade of fire trucks, ambulances, and motorcycles escorted Cody Foust and Seth Dunfee down U.S. 35 Wednesday evening. Dozens of family members, friends, and grateful citizens were on hand to greet them at the Knox VFW.

Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputies made fewer arrests in 2019 than in 2018. Sheriff Jeff Richwine told the county commissioners Monday that deputies made 398 arrests last year, down from 510 the year before.

A local soldier got a heroes welcome home last night after a six-month tour of duty in the Middle East. The Starke and Pulaski County Sheriff’s Departments and firefighters in both counties escorted Cody Foust and his mother up U.S. 35. He’s with the Indiana National Guard’s 1413th Engineer Company, 81st Troop Command. The unit spent the past several months in Afghanistan performing base-closure and retrograde operations in support of the drawdown of Operation Enduring Freedom. Continue reading
