Fall leaf pickup will start Monday in the City of Knox. “The first few, two to three weeks, they just do the whole city, as needed,” Mayor Dennis Estok told the city council Tuesday. “When the leaves really start coming down, then they go by districts.”
The first round of spring leaf pickup for the city of Knox starts today and continues through Friday. Leaves should be placed along the curb in front of your residence in a long row. Do not put them in the alley, and do not bag them. Garbage contractors will not pick up bagged leaves. Trash should also be kept out of leaf piles so they can easily be vacuumed up. Continue reading
The City of Knox will be picking up disposed Christmas trees on the regular brush pick up day beginning Thursday, January 6th, 2011.
Anyone who wishes to dispose of their natural Christmas tree may do so by putting it at the curb. Make sure all ornaments and tinsel are removed. Residents may also dispose of trees in the City’s compost pile located behind City Hall. The garbage contractors will not pick up disposed natural Christmas trees.
