North Judson Limiting Public Access to Town Hall But Proceeding with Holiday Festivities

The Town of North Judson is adjusting its operations in response to the surge in COVID-19 cases. Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe told the town council Monday that he plans to close the town hall to the public for now, with business to be conducted by appointment only and payments being made using the drop box. Dozens of New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Marshall, Starke, Pulaski Counties

New COVID-19 cases continue to be reported in Marshall, Starke, and Pulaski counties. Another 59 Marshall County residents have tested positive, according to Sunday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health. That brings the county’s total to 2,452 since the pandemic began. Starke County had 19 new cases, bringing the total to 755. Four new cases were reported in Pulaski County for a new total of 324.

New Round of Restrictions on LaPorte County Bars, Restaurants, Stores Takes Effect Monday

LaPorte County bars and restaurants will have to stop offering self-service buffets and salad bars, and only six customers will be allowed per table. It’s part of a new order from the county health officer taking effect Monday, in response to the surge in COVID-19 cases. The order also requires bars and restaurants to close by midnight and bans karaoke.

N.J.-S.P. Switching to Virtual Learning after Elementary Teacher Tests Positive for COVID-19

The North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation is switching to virtual learning until Thanksgiving. Superintendent Dr. Annette Zupin says an elementary teacher has tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the number of close contacts that will have to quarantine, the school corporation won’t have enough staff available for in-person classes.
