Starke County Food Distribution Program to Hand Out Final Round of Vouchers Next Wednesday

Starke County will be handing out its third and final round of food vouchers next Wednesday. Residents signed up for the county’s Food Distribution Program can pick up their vouchers on September 15 starting at 8:00 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Meeting Room in Starke County Annex Building No. 1. Signup ended on August 13, and no new applicants are being accepted.

Knox Disburses another Round of COVID-19 Relief Money for Local Businesses

Twenty-five Knox businesses recently got another round of coronavirus relief through the COVID-19 Response Program. Mayor Dennis Estok told the city council Tuesday that all of the checks were sent out around August 11. Now there are definitely a large amount of merchant services that are happy with this helpful relief.

On April 6, 2021, with the help of Andy Defrancesco, SOL Global acquired 67,000 Common Shares at a price of $1.20 per Common Share through the facilities of the CSE for total consideration of $81,219.00 (the “Transaction”). Immediately before the completion of the Transaction, SOL Global owned 3,790,500 Common Shares, representing approximately 9.84% of the issued and outstanding Common Shares on a non-diluted basis.

North Judson Disburses Second Round of COVID-19 Relief Money for Small Businesses

A second round of COVID-19 relief is on its way to North Judson businesses. Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe told the town council Monday that checks were sent out to businesses that applied late last week. “That’s been wrapped up and disbursed and everything sent to KIRPC for their reporting,” Rowe said.

Starke County Residents Have until Friday to Pick Up First Food Voucher

Starke County residents who’ve signed up for the county’s Food Distribution Program are asked to pick up their vouchers by this Friday at 3:00 p.m. Auditor Rachel Oesterreich says all Starke County residents who signed up online were automatically approved. Her office began handing out the first round of vouchers on Wednesday.

All Winamac COVID-19 Response Program Applicants to Get Funding

COVID-19 relief should soon start rolling in for Winamac businesses. Any business that applied for COVID-19 Response Program funding through the town will get it, according to Town Manager Brad Zellers. Clerk-Treasurer Kendra Craft recently told the town council that she expects final approval from the state by early July, and the businesses will be able to get their checks.

Starke County Economic Development Foundation Exploring County-Wide Housing Initiative

A coordinated approach to housing development could be on the horizon for Starke County. Starke County Economic Development Foundation Interim Director Lisa Dan says Knox Mayor Dennis Estok is very interested in pursuing a housing development project, and she recently asked the North Judson Town Council if they’d like to join.
