The number of new COVID-19 cases remains in the double digits in Marshall, Starke, and Pulaski counties. Another 30 cases were reported just in Pulaski County, according to Friday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health. Marshall County had 25 new cases, while Starke County had 14.

Another Marshall County resident has died while positive for COVID-19. The death occurred on May 6, according to Friday’s report from the Indiana Department of Health. That brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Marshall County up to 112.

Pulaski County Health Department Struggles to Secure COVID-19 Testing Site

Finding a place to put a COVID-19 testing site remains a challenge for Pulaski County. The county had been hosting an OptumServe testing site at the Star City Community Center but decided to move it to a county-owned building at the end of last month, to save on costs.

Efforts Continue to Test, Vaccinate Indiana Students

Changes Coming for Pulaski County COVID-19 Testing, Vaccination Sites

Pulaski County will be moving its COVID-19 testing and vaccination sites next month. Terri Hansen with the Pulaski County Health Department told the county commissioners Monday that vaccinations will continue to be offered at the Winamac Knights of Columbus until May 1. After that, they’ll move to the Health Department office.

Star City COVID-19 Testing Site Remains Open despite Low Usage

The OptumServe COVID 19 Testing site in Star City will remain open until at least the end of the month, even though it isn’t seeing much use. Pulaski County Incident Management Team Liaison Nathan Origer told the county commissioners Monday that the Indiana Department of Health wants it to stay open for now.
