Part of Culver Road in Knox is closed for a crosswalk installation. Culver Road is closed between Main and Bower streets through Thursday, according to the Mayor’s Office.

Motorists who use Culver Road in Knox will soon have to slow down for a raised crosswalk. The school board last week agreed to add the safety feature to the ongoing building project, at the recommendation of Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart.

The Culver Town Council will be looking at an ordinance that reviews the enforcement of the brick-paved crosswalks in town.
There are several crosswalks on Lake Shore Drive and on Main Street that are designated by a brick walkway. Residents are concerned about confusion between drivers and pedestrians as to which party has the right-of-way and if they are a legal crosswalk.
