Tomorrow at 10:30 am Eastern the Culver-Union Township Public Library is hosting a program that uses music and canine companions to promote safety education. The Kasey Program uses black Labrador Retrievers to teach children practical safety methods in a memorable way. Maxinkuckee Players Set to Present ‘Hello, Dolly!’
The community theater in Culver that has been putting on productions for three and a half decades has spent months preparing for their latest show, ‘Hello, Dolly!’. Performers come from all over the northern Indiana area to audition to be a part of the Maxinkuckee Players. Monday night, the Culver Park Board approved the proposed plan to preserve a piece of park history. The weeping mulberry tree that was previously slated for removal will now remain in the park. The Culver Schools Board of Trustees meeting scheduled for tonight at 7:00 [EST] will take place in the administrative office located at 700 School Street. The 2015/16 handbooks for the elementary, middle and high schools for the are in need of approval. An update about the title 1 grant is set to be discussed during tonight’s meeting as well as 2015/16 breakfast and lunch prices. Contract pay date clarifications for both the 2014/15 and 2015/16 school years is another one of the action items the board will cover during the meeting this evening.

Families are encouraged to take a stroll through the Culver Town Park and enjoy a story. Officials with the Culver-Union Township Public Library cut the ribbon on the StoryWalk along Lake Maxinkuckee on Saturday. The idea originated in Vermont. Culver-Union Township Public Library Youth Services Director Jill Gavlick says the library board and staff was looking for a special way to celebrate the centennial and came across the idea by doing a Google search.
