State Appeals Court Upholds Starke County Conviction and Sentence
A state appellate court weighs in on a conviction and sentence in Starke Circuit Court. A jury found Donald Frazier guilty of a felony offense of operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. Donald Frazier Found Guilty
A Starke County jury has found Donald Frazier guilty on two counts in a one-day trial.
The six-member jury took less than 15 minutes Wednesday to find Frazier guilty on charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and Possession of Paraphernalia. He pleaded guilty to a charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a Prior Conviction and that merged with the other OVWI charge which made it a Class D felony.
Jury Trial Scheduled in Starke Circuit Court
A jury trial is set for today in Starke Circuit Court.
Donald Frazier will be on trial on charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (OVWI) and Possession of Paraphernalia. The OVWI charge is broken up as two counts: OVWI and OVWI with a prior conviction in the past five years to elevate it to a Class D felony.
Arrests Keep Hamlet Police Department Busy
Officers from the Hamlet Police Department are staying busy, with a number of felony arrests made recently. The most recent was Thursday, Nov. 7 when officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at the Hamlet Golf Course. Allison Heck was arrested on a charge of operating a operating motor vehicle with a suspended license. She and Skyler Goble both charges of possession of controlled substances, possession of paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine.
