Eastern Pulaski Community School Board Considers Project to Address Traffic Flow at Drop-Off Locations

At the Eastern Pulaski School Board meeting Monday evening, board members discussed and considered information pertaining to proposed paving and concrete projects.

Superintendent Dan Foster explained that there are some safety concerns with the current drop-off locations at the schools. Foster said, “The afternoon pick-up procedures aren’t too bad but the morning drop-off procedures, we’ve really struggled with coming up with a good way to do that with the layout of our campus. Eastern Pulaski Community School Board Approves Donation From Gibraltar Design

The Eastern Pulaski School Board scholarship fund got a little bit bigger Monday night after the board approved a donation from Gibraltar Design.

Superintendent Dan Foster explained that in the past, Gibraltar had thanked the school corporation for their business by hosting a dinner or another social function of some kind. However, this year, rather than trying to coordinate with varying schedules the company decided to show their appreciation by sending a $250 donation.

Superintendent Foster said the money will go toward the annual school board scholarship which would bring it up to approximately $10,000.

Eastern Pulaski Community School Board Meets Tonight

The Eastern Pulaski Community School Board will hold a public hearing over the school corporation’s 2018 budget, capital projects plan and bus replacement plan when they meet tonight.

The budget estimate submitted to Gateway Indiana states that the corporation’s general fund is estimated at a little over $9 million, while the rainy day fund has exactly $1 million. The capital projects plan has more than $2 million and the bus replacement plan is estimated at $270,000. Continue reading

Eastern Pulaski School Corporation Still Reviewing Building Project

 
 

The Eastern Pulaski School Board did not make a decision last night on the proposed $14 million building renovation project slated to start in 2015. Superintendent Dan Foster says they do not want to hurry a project of this magnitude. He adds they want to make sure they get exactly what they want in the end. The work will be funded through a tax increase.

Public Hearing Scheduled for EPSC Proposed Superintendent Contact

 
 

A public hearing will be held on Monday, Aug. 12 at 5:30 p.m. ET at the Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation to discuss the pending superintendent’s contract.

By law, the school board members must hold a public hearing disclosing details of the superintendent’s proposed contract.

According to the school’s legal notice, the superintendent’s contract term will be from Aug. 13, 2013 to June 30, 2016. The base annual salary for the incoming superintendent will be $100,000 with a work year of 260 days with 15 allowable vacation days, three personal days and 10 sick days during the 2013-2014 school year. The superintendent will receive a proposed seven sick days during the 2015-2016 school year.
