Knox School Board Votes to Move Fifth Grade to Middle School
The Knox fifth grade class is moving to the middle school this fall. The move was officially approved by the Knox School Board Tuesday. Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart said it will help give students and staff the best learning environment and facilities possible. “We feel that’s critical to this move,” he said, “that when you look at the middle school and that environment, and the facilities that we have there are outstanding, compared to what our fifth graders have here at the elementary.”
Knox School Board to Consider Moving Fifth Grade, Hiring New Corporation Treasurer
The Knox School Board is expected to consider the relocation of fifth grade classes tonight. Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart brought the idea to the school board last month, after a recent facilities study found some extra space at Knox Middle School.
Board members will also decide whether to approve the hiring of a new corporation treasurer and business manager. According to the advance meeting agenda, Dawn Bailey has been recommended to replace Sherry Fort, who’s retiring at the end of next week.
In other business, the Knox School Board is scheduled to hear a park board presentation and get information about the Starke County Community Foundation’s Hardesty Memorial Endowment. Tonight’s Knox School Board meeting starts at 6:30 at the Knox Schools Administrative Office.
Knox Fifth Grade Class May Be Moving to Middle School
The Knox Community School Corporation is looking into moving the fifth grade from the elementary school to the middle school. “There is a rumor going around that fifth grade is moving, possibly, to the middle school, and I want to say that yes, that rumor is true,” Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart told the school board Tuesday. “We have lots of rumors that go around and that one we are looking at, based upon our facilities study by Schmidt.”
