The Town of Winamac is moving ahead with efforts to get funding for wastewater plant upgrades. The town plans to apply for $700,000 in federal funds, available as part of the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs’ Wastewater/Drinking Water Program.
Winamac Town Council to Hold Public Hearing Tonight on Proposed Wastewater Plant Upgrades
Winamac residents will have the chance to weigh in on proposed upgrades to the town’s wastewater plant during a public hearing tonight. The town plans to apply to the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs for $700,000 in federal funding. That money would help pay for work at the wastewater plant to help with ammonia removal, according to Town Manager Brad Zellers.
West Central School Board Awaits State for High Ability Grants
The West Central School Board has decided to table further consideration of an Indiana Department of Education grant.
IDOE’s High Ability grants are distributed every year to the state’s school corporations. West Central has, in the past, used the monies for things like calculators or other classroom materials to help “high ability” students with the learning process.
