Pulaski Commissioners to Consider IT Agreement, Hazardous Materials Response Plan

The Pulaski County Commissioners will consider an agreement for IT services this morning. A managed service agreement with Roeing IT Solutions will be up for their approval. The commissioners will also be asked to approve the 2020 hazardous materials response plan from the local emergency planning committee.

Pulaski County Commissioners to Vote on Solar Ordinance Updates Today

Pulaski County Commissioners: Mike McClure, Jerry Locke, Kenny Becker

Updates to Pulaski County’s solar farm regulations are up for the county commissioners’ final approval this morning. One of the biggest changes is that commercial solar farms would only be allowed in agricultural zones after a hearing before the board of zoning appeals or in planned unit developments. The proposed updates to the county’s Unified Development Ordinance got a favorable recommendation from the advisory plan commission last month.

Local Emergency Planning Committee to Hold Make-Up Meeting Today

Members of Starke County’s Local Emergency Planning Committee will meet this afternoon to discuss details surrounding a recent hazardous material incident and how it was handled successfully.

The LEPC will meet at 2 p.m. in the lower floor of the Starke County Annex Building #2 (the old jail) in the Purdue Extension Office meeting room.

The members were scheduled to hold their meeting last week but there were not enough members there to have a quorum so the meeting was rescheduled. Continue reading
